Re: Beautiful Paso with a broken engine case... what do I do
If the bike is basically sound, and the case only has a crack from the chain, I would be tempted to do a temporary fix, and ride it. If, on the otherhand, the ouput shaft has a large amount of play, the you would be doing more damage. Short term: Tip the bike on the right hand side, spray the crack ...

Re: Radiator Fan failed due to parts fatigue.
WD-40 is a great product, and pretty good at protecting stuff. I always start the cleaning process by spraying the entire bike with WD-40, get lunch or a coffee, then apply Simple Green to dirty bits followed by a strong hose. I don't know what myth there is around WD-40, besides it surely isn't a v...

Re: Radiator Fan failed due to parts fatigue.
do you use Simple Green to clean your bike?
The citrus cleaner does a fantastic job of cleaning, but must be rinsed thoroughly, or it will oxidize aluminium bits rather well. It will certainly create the problem you are seeing. That, and the salt air.
Cheers, Phil

Several of my friends have the Vario pegs, and they have held up well so far.

Re: Lowered the footrests
Yeah, I bought some similar and they are for the later models. I complained to the guy, and he simply refunded my money. Don't even fit my 2002 ST4s. Search the posts, as there are several people who have done the lowered footpegs in different ways.

Re: New Owner
Congrats on getting a 907 again. Oddly, my bike was missing the aero part also when I bought it. I wonder if they work their way loose, or just get damaged in the garage. I bought one from another member that it is black, but my bike is red. I keep searching Ebay and Craigslist for a replacement, bu...

Re: Where to get tank silent blocks
Yeah, I had to make my own also. I found some rubber washers at the hardware store and glued them onto the tank tab. I also put a second set of the tank support bumpers on the sides (2 per side) and used them as the tank reference, then bent that back tab to fit with my new rubber blocks so that the...

Re: LED headlight bulbs - H4
On the internet you often see pictures of the front of a vehicle. The headlights one with filament bulb vs one with LED bulb. Of course the second seems always brighter if you look at it as the light is bundled and has a much colder colour.. Yeah, Photos of headlights and their patterns can be very...

Re: LED headlight bulbs - H4
Yes, that is all true. But I think the landscape has just now changed. I am installing the Yamaha dual headlamp, so I have two lamps now. I can't run two 55 watt low bulbs. (70 watts for the two if I run the 35 watt version) The best Silver Star bulbs are rated around 1,000 lumens on low beams and a...

Re: Electrics help please?
Yeah, the name dielectric grease kinda infers an insulator, but mostly it is a barrier to water, dirt, normal grease and oils, and anything else that may conduct electricity from the connection, or promote corrosion. It seals your connection from intrusion of water and debris that will degrade and o...

Re: LED headlight bulbs - H4
You raise a good point of whether this is folly or not. And I question it myself. But that's kinda why I delved into this this week. Basically, the technology is advancing at a rapid rate, and LED lights have just now become bright enough for use in headlamps. Anything a year old is probably half th...

Re: LED headlight bulbs - H4
Thanks for all the input, and especially the Norton link. (needless to say, I did not read all of the pages of the post) I think that LED headlights have just recently turned the corner of reliability and usability from all that I have read so far. The one I am leaning towards so far is the Cyclops ...

Re: Electrics help please?
That does look like what is under my seat. Looks all stock to me. Yes, one has a fuse in it. Mine has a zip tie around the two relays and the block to hold everything in place. I guess a previous owner had some issues, so just left it there. If you haven't yet, pull every connection apart, clean it ...
