Pay attention, our leader speaks!
K.I.S.S. two wires two scotchlocks a switch go for a ride I have a 65c thermostatic valve on my 906 and the only fan switches available are mounted to the cylinder block (Aprilia), so if I wanted auto switching I had to make/adapt a device. Only having a mechanical switch is getting cranky. The ele...

Re: wiring manual fan switch
I utilised a 12v room thermostat kit, had to change a number of resistors to alter the 5-30c thermostat into a 55-90c device. Purchased at a Maplin store, why it even exists I don't know but I had a use for it. Coupled with a 3 way switch (Off / On / Auto) it is a handy little black box with an LED ...

Re: Wideband sensor for Air/Fuel Ration (AFR)
Awesome stuff Warwick and very well done too. I've always relied on the seat of my pants to judge the mixture but well know a dyno-shop truly gets the best result for fuel injection.

Re: It suddenly stops !!! Input needed
You have only got yourself to blame. Who in their right mind would start a 200km+ ride with a motorcycle that had cut out 5 times the previous ride? *Note* When the Ducati develops a fault you don't ride it again until the fault is found. Good luck fixing it... spares are difficult to find this cent...

Re: allmost lost alternator nut!
Amazing there is no engine damage! Normally the hex undoes and the flywheel rotates on the shaft crushing the woodruff key & breaking the crank. Seen this done to an 851 - what a mess.

Re: Orange wires?
The relay mod works well for the 906 but it is only a reroute of power for the Digiplex, which is the last appliance on the loom. Check the primary coil resistance too - mine measured something like 0R84 (that is less than 1 ohm) so I replaced them with Kawasaki modules that have a primary impedance...

Re: paso alternator is it single or twin phase
I am not sure about the '3 wire' connections from Electrex. The standard Energis reg/rec has two yellow (phase power) and one Red that is for voltage comparitor (warning light circuit). Simply joining the red to a yellow and the yellows together is not to be done! Even if they are right to say the p...
Re: Fuel pump
Drawing is revised - see page 2 of this thread What I have done is follow the initial design by Ducati. If the fuel pump was mechanically driven by a cam off the engine then its output would approximate 'rpm vs fuel pressure' and a regulator without reflow would be ideal. The fuel pump is electric a...
Re: Fuel pump
No there are no burnt valves in my 906 and I also have a quick release fuel pipe connector (image corrected - page 2) on the return line that is quite restrictive - but no return line? I kept the return line so that the fuel pump cant be stopped and consequently overloaded (ie. a 'full carb' means n...
Re: Fuel pump
When I purchased a replacement 'T' piece from my local Weber outlet, well it was more of a 'Y' piece the base tube was wide and the two tails were narrow so there is a right and wrong to this. Naturally the wider tube takes its feed from the pump.
Re: Fuel pump
R U kidding me ? Did the laws of physics suddenly change ? Think about what you just posted :banghead yeah , beats the crap outa me how they won the war :D What are you talking about? Do I need to add idiot arrows too? Fuel out of tank to pump then splits between return pipe and regulator. The whol...
Re: Fuel pump
I really think you are making the job over complicated. Even if the fuel pump fails it can be by passed with a short length of pipe to get you home. It isn't a good idea to cut off the fuel supply to the pump when it is running, the motor will be overloaded. If you dont want options then you dont wa...
Re: Fuel pump
Ah ... ok , I was under the impression that these pulsing pumps have a set of contacts that open and close to ... If you block off the outlet there will be no fuel flow and thus the armature will not travel full stroke , contacts wont close , pump stops Could be, I don't know. To find that out I wi...
