Ok, so rims that fit the 1990-1993 916s, 900SS, 851s, 888s, ect. should fit the '92 907, correct?
Basically rims for two sided swingarms, right?
Another issue I want to avoid is the need for modifications, spacers, re-drilling, ect.

from 916/748 only front rim will be useable. All other bikes you listed (incl. Monster) basically had the same 3 spoke rims in different colours. Exception the 5 spoke Marchesinis (ie Monster 900S) and 3 spoke Marvics (early Superlights). Beware that there could still be some small differences ie a 17 or 20mm front wheel axle or a specific sprocket carrier on the Marvic rims (as far as I know also 16" and 17" Marvics are different in this point)
If you go for aftermarket wheels for one of these models things will become probably more expensive than adapting wheels from another bike investing also in some modification.

Hi Paso 750,

Yes I know PVM wheels. They're nice, but not what I'm looking for. It's the Dymag 5 spoke magnesium with carbon rim or nothing.
I already have 2 sets of wheels. one of them are 3-spoke magnesium Marvic ones, coming from a 888 racer and were used as rain wheels. the width of the rear wheel is 6", which may be a little wide for the 907
The other sets is for my 900 project, which is laying around for a few years.
But thanks anyway,

Have to remind some things now:

1. You might have problems, if You try fit wider, than 5.5" rim to 907.... I have noticed, that if i use 180 rear tire(like i normally use!), then there is only VERY small distance between tire and chain and if then chain is not allways tightened to right level, then it start to hit to side of tire making harm there....

2. If U add such too wide rim, You have to be 100% sure about chain line !!!

3. Is it wise to put so much money to get such "nice looking", (but in technical terms, "NOT SUITABLE") wheels to 907 ???

916 rear rims were totally different, as that bike was fitted with one sided swingarm!!! Early "90s" SS, 851/888 had all same wheels, no matter what was colour.... :smoke:

guys, the question was for suggestions for alternate wheels for a 907ie. If he knew exactly what he wanted and what there is around he wouldn`t have asked :)

So, back to the basic question.
every wheel will fit as the diameter of the axle is the same, the width of the wheel between the members of the swingarm in the axle area is the same. than you have to check the chain-line between the sprockets. if that's oke too, I think you're fine

cyber,

I have 3 spoke Anthracite Marchesini Mags on one of my 907ies. They ain't cheap, but they're beautiful, much lighter than the OEM Brembos, and much easier to keep clean than white. I have no idea if they're still available.

Tamburinifan,

Try not to be a tool.

Are you taking issue with my claim that I have 3 spoke Marchesini Mags, or my description of the color as, "Anthracite?" I know I have the rims, 'cause I have the receipt for them, and I ride on them. Perhaps I described the color wrong. They're essentially grey/metal colored, (sort of). Maybe that's called "Gunite?" I don't know. And frankly, I couldn't care less that you think "it has not happened."

I tried to post pics of my 907ie with the Marchesini mags on it, but I couldn't figure out how to post pics on this website. If it's important to you, here's a few links to my photo album on http://www.ducatispot.com, which show my 907ie with the Anthracite, (or, "Gunite," or, "Grey," or, "Metal," or whatever you want to call it), Marchesini Mags on it:
