Been having trouble with the whirry clonky bit, otherwise known as the sprag clutch, got it out yesterday, no real problems other than massive torque on alternator nut, got a ktm one ordered, was surprised how loose the garter spring on the old one was, so thinking about ordering a spring from an oil seal, so was looking back at old posts, some of which mention they are available, but the links mentioned in the posts all seem to be gone, can anyone give me an idea how tight they should be, a couple of bearing companies are stocking replacement springs so was thinking of ordering one to refurbish my sprag to keep as a spare.

Re: Sprag starter clutch
vee two has a once and done upgrade which can be had from a variety of sources that I personally recommend. As for the spring there is a guy in england has had them in the past but best of luck getting in touch with him. As far as the fit goes no play is the best description problems are general in the rest of the components and can also be due to the type of oil used in your engine. can not recommend the oil seal spring route as they are not compatible at all. stick with the ktm spring if you cant source the proper spring
