Swing arm cracking

Post by Kiwi Rider »

My swing arm has a couple of cracks in the brace parts (see pics).
Just wondering if this is a common fault and have people had success with welding them or does it just crack again?
I know a pretty good fitter welder who is good with alumnium work so I'm happy he will do a good job. I could do it myself but...

He did a cracking job (see what i did there ;) ) and it was a chance for me to give it a bit of a buff up and some sort of shine. The pivot pin came out nicely, was lubed still and showing little wear. Pleasing and surprising at the same time.
