Hi
I have an American white Paso 750, imported from Arizona, I'm looking to solve the headlight problem, americans drive on the other side of the road from us, my headlight is oriented to provide good brightness on the right side of the road, which in NZ glares into the eyes of on coming traffic, I have it adjusted so it's safe but it looks skew in the fairing.
I'm looking for a replacement that is oriented towards the left, keeping the beam in the side of the road I want to drive on, not the other side. and giving good full and dip.
Has anyone got any idea's on where a new headlight can be obtained.

Re: Headlights
Have you tried to look for a Yamaha FZ750 headlight? You may find one of those in NZ.

Re: Headlights
Are they really cast off to one side.....cant say as I ever noticed any of mine angling off to the left.
There is a guy down this way ( Winton -ish. )has a pile of Ducati parts . I think he goes under "Ducati spares" and shows up on trade me . Try searching for Paso motor as I know he has a couple ( was going to put one in my quad ), and I have bought the taillight assy off him . He's a good guy, Andy.

Re: Headlights
Did you ever get a solution to this Stepaso? I am looking into adapting a J W Speaker part #0554451 = ECE LHT LED High & Low Beam Headlight with Black
Inner Bezel. This part number is for the "left hand traffic" = LHT which is ideal for NZ. Will significantly improve the lighting.

Re: Headlights
Hi everyone.
In a fit of madness I have purchase a US import Paso 750. It was in a private collection for about 10 years, and has never been “converted” to the correct side of the road. Finding a headlight is proving to be a little difficult. Even eBay only has US or Euro headlights posted. LED technology seems to be going berserk, with good quality lights becoming easier to come by. Has anyone popped the glass off the front of a Paso headlight, or is it bonded to the plastic surround? If the glass comes off easily, my idea is to flip the reflector over so the headlight shines to the left. If that doesn’t work, then maybe using the plastic shroud as a mounting point for a LED headlight, with a couple of blanks for each side. Then the mounting and setting the direction would use the existing mounts and adjusters.
Any thoughts?
Cheers.
Nick.

Re: Headlights
Damn ,now Im tryin to remember if I even knew where my spare Paso headlight came from
also wondering if the cast off is only the low beam ...I mean it would make sense for the high beam to be straight ahead . Gunna dig it out for a look . Im wondering if its got anything to do with that little shield inside the bulb that covers ½ the low beam filament .....maybe its the locating slots in the head light shell the orients the bulb to cast the low beam . My Paso was originally sold new in Japan which is a left side of the road country . Might be worth some inspection ....just that my Paso is buried under/behind a pile of quad parts ,a concrete mixer ,a Moto Guzzi and a whole paint shops shelving ( it was cheeeeep man , couldnt leave it there at that price ...been 5 or 6 years now
) ....bout time to squirt some more crc on the rustable bits anyhow

Re: Headlights
Congrats on the purchase! They are a great bike once the gremlins are sorted.
I do not know the history of my machine (14 previous owners) but it was NZ new, so should have always had a compliant left throwing light output as we are a Right hand drive (left hand traffic) country like OZ. At some point it looks like someone has done the really easy mod of sandblasting a section of the lens, please see the photo below. An opaque sticker would also probably work. I also fitted Narva Surefit LED Headlight Kit H4, what a difference that made, meant I wasn't riding by braille at night!

Re: Headlights
The throw to the left is only in low beam. I like the idea of mounting a 7”x5” LED headlight in the plastic surround, as this would solve the problem of crap standard lights, reduce the load on the alternator and extend the life of parts supply a little in the future. It would be a little tight on the vertical plane, but wouldn’t be too hard to get around. It would mean destroying the headlight in the process, but it wouldn’t pass a roadworthy with the throw to the right anyway. Oh well, will wait and see when it arrives.
Would really like to see your shed McTool. I’m sure there are things in there that haven’t seen the light of day in years!
Cheers!
