Re: Fun Ride Pix
Actually, every refrige in town wants to meet my BMW because when I crack the throttle, the BMW sounds like the compressor in a supercharged, double-door, 27.5 cubic foot icebox just kicked into afterburner. Well, maybe not that bad but still...the bike just doesn't have the visceral throb of a big,...

Fun Ride Pix
I haven't posted anything on the forum in probably a year or two but couldn't resist tossing in a couple of pix today. Temperature was in the mid-70's (not bad for February) and the Ducati wanted to go for a ride. I grabbed a Canon G11, stuck it in my pocket and shot about 50 photos during the hour ...

Re: 907 IE Exhaust
Seriously interesting device. Still, and this also applies to a visit to the dyno operator, even equipped with information from a given density altitude and barometric pressure, one must then choose how and whether to alter the operating parameters of the ECU chip. The old computer on the 907 doesn'...

Re: 907 IE Exhaust
Another intriguing consideration is the effect of altitude, temperature and even humidity on achieving something close to a stoichiometric mixture. For those of us who live and ride in the mountains (my home is 5,200 feet elevation and warm temperatures often create density altitude of 7k or more), ...

Re: PRELOAD-Air in forks
I stand corrected on two items. No air in the fork; the valves are "release" valves, not pressurization valves. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me but the older I get, the more I find out how little I know. If I want to change things in the suspension, I might try the stuff on modiflying M1...

Re: PRELOAD-Air in forks
Jeez, I thought the penguin had seafood for lunch. "Looks like you blew a seal," the mechanic said. "Nah, it's tartar sauce." Yeaaaah! Bisbee is renowned for its gay pride weekend, supposedly one of the five best in the country. I don't know, somehow I've managed to miss the affa...

Re: PRELOAD-Air in forks
This air pressure topic is of increasing interest. I'm familiar with air pressure forks, having run a variety of Marzocchi, Manitou and Rock Shox on bicycles. These forks come in all configurations, including just air, air and coil, and coil. All have fluid dampening in addition to the air or coil. ...

Re: body panel alignment
Not corrected by me, Kurt. It was your online pix I looked at then began wondering why my 907 didn't have alignment points. I examined both side panels from my bike very carefully then looked at your pix before I concluded that the late 907's, at least the ones sold in the US, did not have alignment...

Scooter Pix
It's a slow day, temperature about 75f (not bad for February and elevation of 5280'), so I went for a 20mi. bicycle ride. Still waiting for ABS shims for the BMW, girlfriend is out teaching a yoga class (that's what she says; one never knows), so I decided to inflict photos of my bikes on the group....

Re: body panel alignment
I, too, have a '93 Ducati, sn 002102, so it's one of the last couple hundred, and it doesn't have the grommets on the tank and the inserts on the side panels. It has not been in an accident, previous owner had it since new and treated it much better than his (ex)wife. I think that the grommets and a...

Re: Body panels questions
http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/euroz/d2paso.htm These guys advertise new 907ie panels, the side is priced around $200.00. I can't attest to their quality but the web site has some pix of what look like nice work. They're located in Vista, Ca, and list a significant number of bikes for which the...

Re: Caveat emptor "Let the buyer beware". Clutch drum
Like Antti (and, I'm sure, many other Ducati owners), I do my own maintenance and maintain a paper trail to document my maintenance and parts. It's not only nice to have when selling a bike, the maintenance notebook is a "medical history" for me to examine when I encounter problems with th...

Re: 93 907 for sale on ebay
Couldn't resist tossing in my two pasos...er...pesos. I bought a '93 907ie midway through last year, 20K on the scoot but in truly pristine condition. I paid $4500 for the bike, a premium price but well worth every dollar. Of course it wasn't an eBay purchase, I examined it carefully before handing ...

Re: Rubber fairing nuts, do they fit the 907 I.E.??
Desmoparts.com in Houston, TX, also carries fairing wellnuts. They're .70@ for M6's, and are an almost perfect replacement for factory Ducati parts, and ship quickly. The company also carries a variety of stainless buttonhead fasteners, though I personally prefer the original gloss black. robert '93...
