Re: Issue with rebuild kits
Ok, that makes more sense. I wasn't putting the o-ring inside the bore, just outside of it
Lets see what happens today...

Re: Issue with rebuild kits
No, no powder anywhere near the bore. Maybe the clip is not in the correct groove...I'll try again.
Thanks

Issue with rebuild kits
I just received my clutch and brake master cylinder kits from Bevel Heaven. They are identical to the parts in my reservoirs, but I've run into a problem. I disassembled the reservoirs 2 months ago for powder coating; assembly is pretty straight forward, but something is wrong! The pistons slide rig...

Re: Hi-Comps ready to drop
Well, I got a hold of the seller and explained to him the issue of Paso stock, high-comp pistons vs. aftermarket stock bore higher-comp pistons. He came back saying Paso's came with flat topped pistons as stock, with a 9:1 CR, and aftermarkets for it are domed with 10.5:1 CR. This is coming from a w...

Re: 750SS pistons into the Paso 750 engine
I'm a bit confused. The Paso 750 manual claims a CR of 10:1; is this correct? At several sites I've seen specs as low as 9.3:1 for the Paso 750/ F1 750, and 9.5:1 for the 750SS of the same years. If the posts on this site are correct, then the Paso/F1 have the higher (10:1) CR and the SS/M, lower CR...

Re: Hi-Comps ready to drop
Yeah, waiting on replies from one other source. So far three other sources have been no-go for the parts I need. As for the cam pulley tool, anywhere I can find it for less than the $80 most places want for it?

Re: Hi-Comps ready to drop
Not sure of the compression, but the dome on the new hi-comp pistons is much bigger than on stock pistons I've seen. (Ebay has a couple of photos of stock and hi-comp pistons for comparison) At this point I'd love to bore out the cylinders and go with some 90mm pistons, but can't justify the expense...

Re: Hi-Comps ready to drop
Arrrgh!!!! The dissassembly went without a hitch, but, SURPRISE!!, I think the previous owner had already put hi-comp pistons in! The pistons I pulled out are identical to the hi-comps I ordered, and even have the same markings underneath: 09 3528.
Can this be possible?

Hi-Comps ready to drop
I might drop the hi-comp pistons in the Paso as long as I don't have to battle too many variables along the way. I have the plastic all off to replace a dead fuel pump, so I might as well do somthing else while there. Besides replacing the timing belts and adjusting valve clearances, and head, valve...

Light engine rebuild questions
I purchased a set of hi-comp 88mm pistons for my Paso, and although looking forward to getting work done right away, I would like some suggestions on what to do while I have the engine apart. The bike runs like a dream with the Weber setup, and it has less than 15k on the clock, so lower end work sh...

Hard to find part
Can I be the only Paso owner looking for a replacement rear mud guard (fender; part the licence plate attaches to)?
I have scoured Ebay and other places, but I cannot find a used fender...
Anyone out there have an old one lying around?!

Of clutch noises
I work in the service department at the local Hon/Kaw/Suz/Yam dealer, and very few european bikes come in for service. Last month I had 5 Ducs come in for service within a 3 week span and I became concerned about the amount of mechanical noise coming from these engines, primarily the clutch. The rat...

Re: Paso SOS!!
Well, the fuel starvation fiasco is over! I’m not certain if it was one, single item that caused my problems, or a combination of parts that weren’t working together as they should. The biggest problem I found was that the vent and fuel return tubes under the tank had different flow qualities whenev...

Re: Paso SOS!!
I agree on the fuel starvation. My plan is to plug the fuel return line and test ride. If it runs without stalling then I might put the restrictor jet on the tee and test again with the line back in place. I'm also suspecting that 4 fuel filters could be affecting flow as well, so the clear filter w...
