Re: 907ie for sale UK

The bike is now sold and has gone to an enthusiast in Cambridgeshire.

And I've just bought a 1949 BSA B32 :)

Re: 907ie for sale UK

The 939 is actually a lot more comfortable. The handlebars/seat/footrests provide much better ergonomics with the footrests lower and better placed. It is also a good deal lighter, not to mention faster with better handling and brakes.

907ie for sale UK

I'm getting older now and need to think about reducing my number of bikes. So reluctantly I have decided to sell my Ducati 907ie which I have owned for the last 10 years. The bike was registered in March 1994, although the last 907's were built in 1992, so must have sat in a dealers for a year or so...

Re: Clutch slave rubber boot??

Big end goes against the piston. It is simply sandwiched between the slave cylinder and the end of the shaft.

Re: Oil change dramas

There is a brass plug that will take a 10mm hex key on the underside of the sump, almost directly behind the filter screen and close to the exhaust pipe. They can round out easily so make sure you have a good fitting key. I would have thought that most of the oil would have come out through the filt...

Re: Fan thermo sensor/switch

That thermo switch was used on the 906, 907ie, 851, 888 and 9176 and early 748 but is no longer available. https://www.stein-dinse.biz/product_info.php?products_id=114492 However the switch for the later 748 and the 996 is available. It is essentially the same switch but with a different connector. ...

Good news. It pays to check all the connections first.

Re: Sluggish starter

Mine was always sluggish too. I took it off, cleaned the commutator and replaced the brushes. It made no difference. A few months later the brushes stuck. I had to remove the starter again to free the brushes and make sure they were moving freely. The next year it did it again  This time the br...

Re: Ignition Switch electrical mod.

Why do you guys want to run wires from the ignition switch? All the wires you need access to are under the seat at the fuse box. Take a Tee off the red blue wire at the back of the fuse box from the main fuse to pin 30 of a 30A relay. Cut the brown wire that goes from the ignition switch to the swit...

I cut the wire close to the fuse box and mounted the relay under the seat.

Re: Paso 750 MARELLI coils output voltage?

The output voltage should be several thousand volts and will depend on the ratio of the turns on the primary and secondary windings. It icould be somewhere from 20,000 volts to 50,000 volt. No idea how you measure that though! Why would you want to measure it? Normal check for coils is to check the ...

Re: 1988 Paso Valve Clearances

I'd be happy with those clearances. I'm not sure about the 750 engines but for the 904 at one time Ducati specified .003" inlet and .004" exh for openers, that was later changed to .004" and .005". Even if you can't measure the gap, as long as all the closers can spin when you pr...

It is measured with the springs out and the forks fully compressed. The manual I have says 180mm ?? https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/ACtC-3eh6P-v1f9fhHr9x9Csr3ib9C4jtuGqRXu-NakxNLUSfmiiLqgcyFbYCROAefssuBHmDTuL9_hv3sN32l2nZVW-8aauoo_ugIPU_9o9Z9px2Wlwu1pRWQm0zJJ9z-TX4jzGN8BSIH5TvrT8WGKMP13ivQ=w860...
