I was lucky in getting a pair of mikuni’s from a 750 monster, with manifolds and throttle with cables. But I have a couple of questions regarding some of the hoses. There are 2 hoses from the top of the carbs, one on each carb., with some kind of filter and a steel spring / wire around them, and they have en inner diameter 8 mm.. Where are they supposed to be attached? There is also on the manifolds two nozzles on each of the manifolds. Are they to be blocked? And finally, would any one have links or some good pictures on how there setup looks like regarding the above?

Klaus,
I have been down that road but for other reasons had to revert back to the Webber and sell my perfect Monster carbs
But I did take some pictures of the set up. The links below show the carbs fitted to the Paso. The two hoses you refer to are breathers for the carbs, all you need to do is route them to a catch tank. I used a model plane fuel tank. zip tie to the frame with the top pointing down (cap fitted) made two tight holes to push the hoses in then made a small venting hole above the hoses. This way any fuel that may get this far will drop to the bottom of this tank but the vent stops a vacum forming.
Monster's tend to have two catch tanks one on each side.
Sounds like the manifolds are fitted with vacum pipe take off for balancing the carbs, these must be blocked off.
The links as i said show the carbs fitted but not finished, you can see one of the hoses with spring, if what you have is this then its as i said.

Hi motiztab
Thanks a million for the advise and the pictures. Very informative. I am looking forward to installing the Mikunis. At the moment the PASO is driving ok with the Weber, but it does tend to be a bit tricky in accelerating from stand still and it has a little flat spot between 4700 4900 rpm. and also at sudden acceleration, full throttle, it hesitates. So if this could be eliminated with the Mikuni, it will be reel great.
Cheers
Klaus

Nilaus,
Expect the bike to be transformed. Have put the Mikunis on about 2 months ago and still can not believe the difference. I have removed the air air box and filter, just have 2 foam pods. The intake sound when you open the throttle is wonderful.
The bike now idles at traffic lights and can accelerate with full throttle with absolutely no hesitation or hickup. Just like it was designed to.
