Funny little spring?

Post by delagem »

Hi all, anyone ever drain the oil out of their Paso motor and find a little, tiny spring in the oil? I did! I mailed it to the best Ducati man I know, Tom Fournier of Dunbar Euro Sports. He said it is the spring that goes around the end of a rubber seal, and wouldn't speculate on which seal.

Anyone ever have this happen? And find out the results? I have no problems with the bike so far, and I'm not afraid to keep riding it, I'm just curious!
The $900 Paso: DellOrto's, Dyna 5 ohm coils, Ignitech TCIP4; finally, a new set of tires! Goldentyre GT070/071

The bike is gone, but the nightmares continue...

Only 27 times in fourteen days? you don't live in a so bad place! they told me you can happen in just one day!!! :funny: :funny:
About the spring... I never opened the entire engine, but you can have a look to the spare parts catalogue, you might happen to meet what you found... did you measured it?
have a nice ride, Nicola

Nicola, the number keeps going up! That is, until I leave Shanghai in a week. I don't live here, I'm just visiting on a ship.

No, I didn't measure the spring. Just a little bitty one, but I've never seen one before....
