Which kind of modification have you made to the airbox?
No matter, I can tell you that for the most of Ducati (and also for Pasos) the only K&N filter is the DU-0900.
But, you could also keep out the airbox, fitting two filters directly on every carburetor.
Ciao

K & N have 2 modells of that square filter to Ducati. One thinner for normal use and one thicker with "not so much resistant"(more area to air going thru it...)for racing use. I have both modells... I cant remember numbers now, but i think little different ones.

I would probably go the Mikuni route, too. I know a guy with the carbs from a '94 SS900-CR that he'd let go for quite cheap. The problem is that the bike had a mild fire and the plastic pieces on the carbs are in different degrees of being melted.

I figure the "pod" type is what you are referring. They have a "Universal Fit" category for different filters....Timmy wrote:i want to mount the KNs directly un the mikuni. Which KNs can I use?
http://www.knfilters.com/universal/universal.htm
You'd have to determine the dimensions that you need. If you wanted the "Round Tapered (cone shape)" filter, you can get the dimensions here....

My Dellorto carbs have K&N filters on them. I figure they either came in the kit, or a previous owner used a chart like this one to determine what he needed.
I hope this helps.

Air cleaner boots
If at all possible, add a bit of length between the air cleaner and the carb. It vastly improves low end performance and torgue. There's a phenomenon called fuel fog that comes back out of your carb at lower rpms. If you don't contain it, it becomes a variable mix. Add just a few inches of intake trakt and the bottom end mixing becomes much better. This is one of the functions of a stock airbox. Race bikes don't use this because they are never using the low end, but a street bike does all the time. I added some 2" (50mm) rubber elbows to my Dellortos and it improved the idle and low speed drivability alot. I bought them from http://airflowonline.com/ , the part number is 90HL2 Rubber Intake Hose 90 Degree 2" $8.87
I have 36 Dells with the short grey plastic screw-on velocity stacks (bells). I put some UNI foam filter pods on top of those elbows using some 2" aluminum sleeves as joiners. Hope this helps.

Re: Air cleaner boots
When i put 40mm Dellortors to my 750 Paso 2002, i used Malossi intakes(just fitted to 750 Paso conversion) and then i find, that there is ONLY some 3-4mm space between front carburator and rear sylinder(!!!!), so cant use longer manifolds, what that Molossi is... Btw, Malossi manifold coast 2002 28€.ducinthebay wrote: I added some 2" (50mm) rubber elbows to my Dellortos and it improved the idle and low speed drivability alot.
