Hi,

Due to various incidents the afternoon before leaving for the 2006 Assen TT and even I, through my company, get Exide batteries for half the shop price, I ended up searching for the battery that would suit my 907 and found that some mid-1990's model Harley's uses the same one. Located a dealer and even I mentioned it was for a Ducati they sold me one. Very, very expencive, but I just had to get it now. It is sealed, probably some gel-type thing.
However, since then for six months and after 14 yrs of 907 ownership, I have had no power problems with my bike. I often travel and will be away for both 2 and 3 weeks, and when I get back it still fires up like I just parked it. Another advantage is that the taillight bulbs use to blow at high speeds (180-200KMh -yes it can!) which I thought was due to vibration, but it seems that it was caused by overcharging as internal battery resistance in the H..... battery keeps charge-sparks at bay.
Price in Denmark was DKK 1150 = almost USD 200.
So far its worth it. Similar types must be available without the H..... sticker.
Also it is very important to keep all connections very clean. I run a newer ducati rectifier that does not have the connection for the warning lamp. It has worked well for more than six yrs.
Together with a relay inserted to relieve the ign.switch contact points and relays for the headlights, power is no longer an issue.

Still riding for a few more days - will park it Thursday this week.

For SUCH high price, You SHOULD have VERY GOOD and LONG LIVING battery to Your 907 !!!! If i count, that i buy YUASA 16Ah battery every 4 years, i can live with such 200USD for 12 YEARS !!!!! :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: I think, 200USD for mc battery is TOO MUCH!.... At least to me....

Far too much and have I had time to get one from our std. supplier I would surely have done so as I would have paid some EUR 30,00 for it instead.
Still the Harley battery (or a battery from the manufacturer that makes these for HD) is somewhat worth it. My point was really to let you know of this option as I am confident that the price for you that live in the US will be much much cheaper than what I paid, probably just half of the Danish price that also have 25% VAT/IVA on ALL things sold.

Some of the German internet dealers have gel/race-type batteries as well. They are red, but I do not remember the brand name.

Still mild here, 10C daytime, the hottest ever Autumn. Aparently happens only once in 10000yrs. Bike is parked though, as insurance here does not cover December/January/February unless you pay 25% of the yearly cost.

Looking forward to another great season.

I think, its not so stupid idea to order gel batteries from Germany(Eu inside markets) to Finland or to Danmark, cause we have here in north quite high prices... Anyway that Danmark price was unbeliveble !!!! :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

Btw, also here is very warm(+8C) compared to normal (+/-0C)

Yes it's so.
I think the Germany is now the cheapest EU country.
Could you tell me what's the website where you are thinking to buy the battery in Germany?

I never have done a market survey about pizza's prices.
In fact, I don't need it.
I eat only the real Neapolitan pizza, cooked in a oven with wood, whatever is its price :lick: :lick: .

The "calzone" is a delicious variation to the Neapolitan pizza: it's a folded up pizza, filled with ricotta and mozzarella cheese, and salami....

have you tasted the REAL Neapolitan pizza?
I think no, because unfortunately also in Italy isn't easy find it.
Many people thinks the pizza has to be thin and crunchy. NO!
You have come in Italy bringing a good Kokenkorva's supply :lick: :lick:
