750 seat

Post by marshman »

Hi Marinus
RE: Seat for 750 paso
I managed to get s/h seat of wazza in waimate as a trade for some parts I had.It fit in the gap perfect.Old seat is approx 10mm shorter as a result every time I sat on seat it would pop out at back[still fat better seat]javascript:emoticon(':neener:')
neener neener neenerI had heard that 750 was slightly shorter in frame than 906[maybe other members may be able to clarify this point?]It may be that we have aftermarket seats? The seat on auction is mint apart from the two cuts as shown.
Cheers Andrew

Andrew,

I own one grey 907ie seat, one black 750 seat, one Corbin and one which is an italian aftermarket part.
The 907ie seat fits perfectly on my P750, the original black one not, the Corbin is minimally too short but fits fine (and the fourth one I didn`t try yet). So I guess the reason of fitting or not fitting is just a cause of manufacturing tolerance or let`s better call it "italian perfection" :D

Hi Dude
Welcome from NZ.Well God [or whomever]bless "Italian perfection"Does your after market seat have any stickers/markings on as identification???My old seat has a SELLA DALLA VALLE -SAREGO[VI]sticker on it.+ ph no 0444/833885.any clues there???
How does your 907 compare to your other paso's .I have just converted 906 to 17s + brakes etc. What a difference .It is like owning a new bike.Next project is a USD front end [all parts OEM Ducati]Call me mad but the Paso just does it for me[shape etc]
Regards Andrew
[sorry if God comment offensive no harm meant]

Marshman,

It's way worse than being a stalker! You are now getting trapped within the group.

infact my other aftermarket seat is also a Sella dalla Valle.
My grey 907 and the black 750 seat are identical. As mentioned strangely the 907 seat fits better on my bike while with the original black seat I have some problems with the seat lock.

Is the 907 seat exactly the same as the 750 ? I thought the padding was slightly thinner making the seat about 1cm lower (it is on mine)
For what its worth I have a 907 OE seat that fits the 907 great a 750 OE seat that doesn't fit either the 750 or the 907 well and another 750 OE seat that pops up on the 907 but fits the 750 very well !

Italian Character I think :D

I admit I didn`t notice that there`s a height difference between a 750 and a 907ie seat.

Your first 750OE seat probably doen`t fit because it`s a 906 seat :D :D :D

PS: don`t anyone get confused now :D

Is Sella dalla Valle an aftermarket seat? That is what mine is too. When I bought my bike it had only done 22k km and the seat is the worst thing on it as far as condition is concerned. Maybe that is just who Cagiva used to do the seats. I was looking to get mine recovered but as the seat is about 5mm short I thought I would look around for a different one. It seems that most suffer from the same problems. The Corbin's are very nice however at $300us I'd be looking at about $550 NZ landed including postage.
Here is a scary thought maybe all the seats are the same but all the bikes are different.

I personally think it is part of the master plan of Ducati!!!What plan you may well ask ? Problem is that they dont Know what the plan is so how the heck can we?
Unfortunately seat seemed to have stickers as parts tags[which fall off]wheras all other parts are stamped [what dont].
Have you guys checked out Gowanlloch mc in Australia ,they sell reprinted parts catalouges & service manuals.Worth a look!!
