Free Paso partts in Atlanta, GA

I have no relation to the seller/poster. You will have to sign in/join speedzilla to gfet more info.

This was posted on the Speedzilla ducati forum:

I'm cleaning out a storage unit and they've got to go. I’ve got most of a rolling chassis from an 87 (I think) Paso. Included are some of the body panels (not a full set), front and rear suspension, 16” wheels, tires (old), underseat tray, Corbin seat, fuel tank, slip ons (I think). Any way, if you want the parts, you can have them. For free. Just come and pick them up. First come, first served. If you want me to ship them, I will for a fee. Located south Atlanta. Four days from now the parts will be gone, one way or another.

Grrrrr....I can't get to Speedzilla from work (the site is blocked), and my old account I think has been purged from inactivity....I'd love to have the parts. I'm only two hours from there, also. Awe well.

Edit - I'm shocked....I tried to get there, and apparantly they lifted the block form the site....I sent him a PM. Thanks for the heads-up, Jon!

I'm supposed to be going to pick them up tomorrow. Turns out, I know the guy getting rid of the stuff, and we've ridden together. He said it is basically "half a bike". No engine, no title (only a bill of sale), and a lot of other small stuff is missing. Sounds like it only has a few pieces of bodywork, the tank is dented and no key to open the cap, he sold the rotors off the front, so it is basically a frame with front and rear suspensions, wheels, tank, 3-4 pieces of bodywork, and a few other pieces. I really wish I'd known about this back in November when I needed an upper triple clamp and a left fork slider.

For it's future, I'm going to hang on to it until I have my current project completed, just in case I need something from it. It would be temping to keep the frame/swingarm/rear shock/tank, sell/give away everything else, then build up some interesting track-only bike with a donor engine of sorts (KX500 2-stroke?) and these '94 SS900 forks and wheels/rotors/brakes that I already have. I could buy a complete set of competition bodywork from Airtech...

A project like that may only end up costing me the price of a donor dirtbike, new tires, and the fabrication of some brackets and exhaust. LOL..... :D

I actually believe I'll probably just hang on to it until my current bike is done and then sell/give-away the rest. I know I'll probably never use the wheels off of it....and probably not the forks, either We'll just have to wait and see...I don't even have it in my possession, yet.

Thanks, again, for the heads-up!!!

Jon,

Thanks again for the heads-up on this. I picked it up today and was pretty pleased with the condition of the parts that were there. Looks like the tank and seat will go on the Paso I'm tryin gto bring back to life. Not too sure what I'll do with the rest of it, yet....

Here's a page I wrote about it with a few pictures...

Set up like that, all stripped down she looks like a flat track bike! Fat front tire and all.

Looking at this thread on VIN #'s....

http://forums.ducatipaso.org/viewtopic. ... pic&p=9028

I think I know why this part was stripped down and only came with a Bill of Sale......It's a European model (13 digit VIN). One of the previous owners probably couldn't get it registered and stripped it.

VIN # ZDM 750P*75516xx* (astericks are actual stars stamped on the frame). Under that is stamped "DGM 52055 OM"

In comparison, my '87 Paso project bike has the US 17-digit VIN...

ZDM1DA3N0HB7513xx.

Just curious, were the frame lowers missing or just not included in the pics?

Unfortunately, it is missing those two sections of frame. I'm hesitant to spend any money on this thing, but I really wish I had those two pieces and the headlight mounting bracket. I know where I can find the frame pieces, so I'm a little tempted to by some, to make the frame complete.

I see you have a source. I wasn't sure how hard they would be to come by. I was thinking they might not cost too much to have fabbed up if you couldn't find any. If you choose to do it, you can keep me in mind. I have a good headlight/fairing frame in my spares.

I'm not too sure if I want to buy a stock fairing frame or fabricate one of my own (I have a friend who owns a steel supply shop and another who can do plasma cutting, welding, and other fabrications). What I really can use is a grab handle. At least that way, I can fabricate some pins to hold the tailsections on the bike. It may be easier to store the bike with all the plastic on it than to try to find non-existant storage (I now have 7-1/2 bikes in my house).

This is just one room....
