Post by rolduc »

Hey everybody,

I've a question:
Howmany 907 i.e.'s are ever produced worldwide.
Howmany off those where Black.
I've seen a list on this site but I think it isn't correct as mine is nr 1643 and there are suposed to be produced 1493 I.E.'s

Thanks in advance,

907 production run

Post by mrinflux »

Per Mr. Ducati, Ian Falloon, the total world-wide production run for all three model years, (1991 -1993), of the 907ie was 2,303. A check of his books will reveal more detailed information: yearly production numbers, color breakdown, USA vs. European distribution numbers, and VIN number information. I don't know how accurate his numbers are, but they're probably reasonably close to dead-on.

miles on the 1098

Post by mrinflux »

jon,

zero miles so far. i haven't taken delivery yet. mine is the next one to arrive at martin eurosports. i'm waiting for the termignoni full exhaust system to be installed along w/ open clutch cover and red clutch backing plate, along w/ a few other goodies, before i take delivery. and since i took so much heat last year at the desmo picnic for my jeans, sneaks, and crappy leather jacket, i bought a full set of alpinestars leathers to match. i'll bring the 1098 and my new leathers, (and the cool boots i won last year!), to the desmo picnic this summer. see u at the picnic.

moto elitism

Post by mrinflux »

finnpaso,

i'm a lover of all bikes, if it's got 2 wheels it rocks my world. 125cc scooters, big harleys, i don't care, i love 'em all. true, i have a special spot in my heart for ducatis, but i find the whole sport vs. cruiser thing divisive and ultimately harmfull to the sport of motorcycling. i don't subscribe to that us vs. them thing. bad mouthing cruiser bikes and the people who ride them bores me. it reminds me of the motor vs. blowboat, or glass vs. wood debate amoung boating enthusiasts. i don't know about you, but i'd rather be ripping down the road sitting on top of a harley fatboy than inside my car any day that's suitable for riding.

by the way, my "stupid japan bike" as u call it, is mad cool! it turns heads wherever i take it. in it's day it was the fastest shaft driven bike made, (a title it quickly lost to the V-Max). i'm in the process of converting it to chain drive w/ GPZ final drive components. it's not a duc, but it's very cool. broaden your horizons a bit finn, you'll enjoy life more!

I undersatand Your behaving, but after Your story i have to say, that i hate You still... ;-)

To me Ducatis, and especially Pasos(no matter i have powerfull ST4S with many improvments also) are main thing in my world, so i dont accept that some "Ducati/Paso guy" have some shit bike from Japan... Ducatis are "lifestyle" and especially old Pasos are just that... As many have sayed: "if U are not with us, U are against us".... I want to be in Ducati and especially "Paso side", so i dont give so much "points" to those guys, who want to have any japan bikes.... Maybe i am "too deep" in my Paso/Ducati things, but forgive me that.... If peopple here dont need anymore my advices, then i go out from here and start in some other forum....

This is not anykind of "war" against anybody, but i live for Pasos and Ducatis....

I guess Your not into to two wheels without Engines then Antti ?

Lance Armstrong is definitely a guy. Probably the best competitive cyclist ever.
Unfortunately the French press dnever looked at it like that and Throughout his career Lance was effectively at war with them.

Finn do you own a TV?

But, I am not surprised. Its easier for some euros to say a thing does not exist than to admit its greatness. I have a buddy that wore a Lance Armstrong jersey to a Cup Soccer final and he got hit with a beer, lol.

But, believe me I catch hell riding my duc with my Harley buds but I love every minute of it.

yeah, i just rode about 300 miles with my harley buddies yesterday and deliberately took my 907.
drove them nuts trying to keep up with me in the twisties.
loved every minute of their euro bashing bullshit.

I can't wait to see it!!! I hope you'll be entering it in the bike show. I've already made the reservation for the park space and a different caterer that is even better.
