body panel screws

Post by mrinflux »

sean,

body panel screws for the 907 are not all the same length. that's normal. if your body panels are fitting snug and are not being damaged by the fasteners, leave it be.

I have just gotten my new panel screws back from the powder coater and will be switching the old set out soon. I will try and number the places for ya and let you know where they go. And yes you have 3 different sizes. Two are large diameter and short, the others are the same smaller diameter but two different lenghts. I recommend cleaning them well because they are prone to rust (check the body panel screw posting). But, I have the ulimate body panel set now but had to pay outta the wazoo to get them the way I wanted with powder coating. I will have an extra powder coated set if anyone will be interested.......they will run about 100 bucks........thats about what it cost in labor to get em done and I just sent them with my other set.

If you can't afford it don't buy em............a set cost more than that from the dealer with no powder coating.

I forgot...........if its not your opinion its not fact.

Please forgive me O great ducati priest.

I suppose you can find a complete and original set of 907 body panel screws with high gloss black powder coating for less than 100 dollars??

How stupid of me to have forgottin  ........ you can produce them with a flick of your Ducati manuel.......... The same one that produces sprocket sizing facts that vary depending on which thread you write in.......... :screwy:

Whats funny??? ...again u philadelphian guy  ... I bought set of special stainless steel allen screws(same modell, as originals) from local screw shop for 15,80€, (all needeed, expect those bigger ones to upper side of fuel tank, they can be also polished easily and clearcoat) polished them with good stuff in few minutes.... Polished stainless steel looks GREAT in red fairings.... :lick: :lick: :lick: AND CHEAP!!!! We say here, that "stupid is not he, who ask, but stupid is he, who pay"....   ... laughting still here....sorry for that.... :D

Finn,

Fair enough, you're quite the bargain hunter!!! But answer me this: Do those "special stainless steel allen screws" fit an "old", pre fuel-injected monster?

So, what you are saying is you are cheap? If I wanted stainless steel sure it would be cheaper.......but if you want something that won't rust or tarnish you want powdercoating. I am not the kinda guy who wants to replace things twice.....

Besides, I like the original look......its called my opinion. If you would stick to giving your opinion or help to members that post a topic and stop knocking everyone elses opinion maybe you wouldn't seem like a prick....... :D

Finn,

"Something better to do"? Again I'm confused and humbled by your brilliance. But seriously, what could possibly be a better use of my time than listening to you pontificate on all things Ducati?
