Malossi Dellorto kits

Post by betenoire »

Friends:

I have yet to perform the electrical upgrade and completely isolate the weber problem I have. Thinking ahead, does anyone have experience with the Malossi Dellorto kits? Their seems to be two available for the Ducati 750 Paso - a PHM 40 N and a PHF 36 B.

Here is the info from Malossi: http://www.malossi.com/Catalogo/Cata_Ma ... rt=1610937

Which would be best? Does anyone have experience with either or both? Are their install considerations? The Malossi site is a bit vague.

Thanks in advance,

brett

I have the 36 PHF on my 750 motor and they work pretty good. I have heard that the 40s are just too big for that motor. Don't get tempted by the fact that the F1 750 had them. That bike was built for the track. Anybody who tried to ride that bike on the street commented on its ill behavior.

I can confirm, that 40mm are too big, if no modifications to engine, like porting, air filter, open pipes, etc.... I have 40mm and my friend have 36mm and his bike runs better. I have done well all tunings to my 40mm Dellortos, but they are "designed" to 900cc engine and 36mm are for 750. One of my friend had 36mm in his 750 Elephant and they work very nicely. Go for 36mm, if You havent make modifications to Your engine. F1 was designed for race tracks, so surely then need bigger carbs, but also modifications to engine, like porting, etc....

Brett,

Mine came with PHM40s when I got it four and a half years ago. I would agree that it would probably be better with 36s.
