It Runs!

Post by sprintex »

ITS ALIVE!!!! Got it running last evening took it for a short ride (not registered). It runs real well. Nice torquey motor, pulls real well over 4000 RPM. Quick, but heavy steering. Smooth. The head light is a joke, it makes the head light on my KLR650 seem bright, plus the gage lights are very dim. Need to check on upgrades. All and all I'm a happy guy . Got me an another exotic, classic Italian motorcycle for little money and fixed with a can of carb cleaner.
Now to find a set of sprockets. The rear is worn down to just little points, its almost a pulley.

Congrats....!

Did you take the carb a part to clean it (without a carb rebuild kit)?

Just wondering if I should do the same, my RPMs are still sitting at over 6000 and will not go down.

I just cleaned it still mounted on the bike, pull all the jets and spray carburetor cleaner ( wear gloves and glasses). Took 4 or 5 attempts, and the carb looked very clean inside before i started cleaning.
I need now to fix some wires find a chain and sprocket set ( just E-mail AFAM ) and do the wire upgrades.
