I finally spoke with the owner of the 907 for sale near me. I won't be able to see it until next weekend. Meanwhile, I'm making a checklist. Besides the usual things to check on any bike, like fork seals, chain & tire wear, etc., is there anything unique to a Paso that I should look for?
The owner said that there are no stress fractures on the plastic. He also said that this bike is a European model, first sold in France. Is there a way to tell if it still has the Euro chip? What other differences are there between the US and Euro models?

Besides the usual things you have to see on every bike, you'd have to see three/four things:
1) the headlight has to be well centered in his housing.
2) see at the swingarm: if it's dented near the back footrests, the bike has been hardly dropped so you have to check the frame etc.
3) the throttle bodies have to be clean.
4) see at the inner fairing: don't have to be bad cracks.

Frankie forget, that check swingarm closely: if there are any signs about acid from battery breathing pipe, she have falled down.... Surely very many other things must check...

You have to remove the lid of the ECU under the seat.
Further, the US spec bikes have separated rear turns, while the Euro bikes have them in the taillight and don't have the headlight switch, so the front lamp is always on.

Sorry, WRONG. Back in the day as Ducati tech, saw several 907's, mine included that had mis routed battery breather or disconected breather hose that destroyed finish on swingarm.
