Header Pipe Size??

Post by ducinthebay »

After reading the multitude of write-ups on Moto One;
http://www.moto-one.com.au/performance/#2v
There is mention of different sizes of header pipes. What is the stock size of the Paso header?
(mines been modified a bit, so I can't compare)
Has anyone put on headers from different models?
I'm assuming bigger is better.

Cheers.

Remembering, that 36mm is normal(not sure of it), but i have "Ducati original racing headers" with 40mm size. Olso output hole is same 40mm. :evil:

If you want the powerband at higher RPM`s, otherwise not on
a standard engine.
OEM pipes are actually quite good if you read all Brad`s articles.

Header Pipe Design

Post by Underblog »

Hopefully someone can answer a question about 730 Sport headers. It may or may not apply to Paso headers as well.

The header that came on my Sport (used to me, naturally) is OPEN at the "gore" or place where the pipes all come together. A replacement header purchased off eBay for a reasonable price (to use while the other header is ceramic coated) has a plate welded into the gore.

The cans are Ferracci, and I wonder if the headers and cans are a matched pair. Or perhaps the factory switched from one form factor to another around the time the Sport's came out.

Anyone here have experience with a variation in header designs on the Paso / Sport?
