It can be, that Your left side have been open one time for some reason, maybe broken generator. Normal 230 Volt AC rubber cable is very suitable(flexible and oil dont make any harm to it) from generator to regulator, so such cable is easies way to use, if need new cable from generator, need only cut 3rd wire, if its 3 wire cable.... What are colurs in that generator cable??? If one is blue, one green/yellow and one black(or brown), then its 230 V AC cable surely. There is also other colour combinations in AC cables, so let me know colours...

Really, there are 2 yellow wires and 1 brown wire (cut).
Can it has been fitted a different (3 phases?) stator on the 907?

It "can be", but i dont think so. In Your bike have used only "suitable" cable between generator and regulator. If You want to know, is there 3 phase generator, U have to open left cover of engine. I dont trust that theory at all. I think, that U have only fitted such cable there and U can forget that cutted wire totally. Seems, that some other thing failed Your regulator.... Try to measure now also generator with multimeter:

Between those 2 yellow wires should be only small resistant(some ohms) and they(both yellow wires) must be insulated with big resistant to earth(about Mohms). Very simple measurement. You cant broke Your generator with multimeter! Generator must be dissconnected before measurement from regulator.

Sorry Antti,
if I have well understood, I have to disconnect the generator from the regulator (really, I already removed the regulator) and check the resistance beetween the 2 yellow wires which has to be very low.
Instead, I have to find a big resistance beetween each yellow wire and the earth.
Have I well understood?
Sorry, I'm really a goat  :funny: !

Just that way, Frankie.... That regulator must be dissconnected, that you measure ONLY GENERATOR, nothing else. Let me know, how many ohms You get, so i can then give advises.

Between those 2 yellow wires there is only wire "wounding", so that resistance must be low, only few ohms and insulation must be in good order between wires and earth, what means high resistance(plenty of ohms). No need to take generator from engine , only measure from wires!

soon, You are ALSO electrician, Frankie! That helps alot with Ducatis...

Thanks a lot, Antti, even if I don't think I'll never be an electrician  .

Last question about the battery light on the dashboard.
From the stock regulator come two wires (black and white) out, while from the Electrex only one wire.

How have I to connect the only wire of the Electrex to the dashboard?

Wasnt there any paper coming with Your Electrex about connections. Should come. There was in Electrex web site at least some diagram about connections.... Anyway mine function very well with RR51 with charhing light still.
