Struck Me as Odd....
Last night I was strolling around my bikes with my little girl at my heels. She likes to sit on the motorcycles and wanted me to set her on the Paso that I've been slowly doing a mechanical and electrical restoration to make it streetbale, again.....and then I got this weird feeling........This will be my 324th post on this forum, and the total number of miles that I've ridden on Ducati Paso motorcycles is 8....yes, only EIGHT miles.....It just struck me as odd to have been such an active member on this site for the last year and a half and having ridden so little on the bikes that we talk about......Hopefully, come spring, I'll be putting at least 500 miles a month on my Paso....then I can really contribute to this forum!

Re: Struck Me as Odd....
Terry, what should I say ?! It was end of 2004 beginning of 2005 when I put away the Paso due to some severe vibrations from the engine. By that time I had the 17" wheel conversion in mind but decided against it and for an engine rebuild, beefing it up at the same time. After having finished that I figured it`s a shame to have such a nice new engine in an old frame so that was powdercoated aso aso. It will be better than new when finished but meanwhile it didn`t see the road for 3 years, so regardingy myself you`re 8 miles ahead

Re: Struck Me as Odd....
I will follow you soon.
I'm planning to do some major works on the bike, but I don't want to stay without a bike so I'm going to buy another Duc.
I also would like to powercoat the frame, I only hope to have my beloved 907 first than 3 years...

Re: Struck Me as Odd....
My 750 Paso have been in my "museum" some 3 years, surely started sometimes and driven short distances, but with my other Ducks very many kms around Europe..... Last summer was worst, only about 10 000kms, mostly ST4S and little with 907. Seems, that next summer ONLY with ST2 and some test driving with 750 after Mikuni conversion....

Re: Struck Me as Odd....
Well I have been seriously considering taking mine off the road when rego runs out at the end of december to give the old girl a major freshen up as she has 90,000 km on the clock (& every other part for that matter) but I fear you may have just scared me off that idea as it sounds like she may never return to the road. I think I may just keep her running

hey dont feel bad, my Paso has been sitting in my dining room for over 2 years. the only miles it did were pushed out of the house, onto a trailer, and to a show. here's a pic.

Re: Struck Me as Odd....
Nothing like a brace of Pasos...thanks for posting and welcome back to active duty, Mike.
My bike now has 29k miles and needs a major service, you know, fresh oil & filter, new belts, tires, plugs, adjust valves etc, etc. However, since my Jarama is in Texas getting the head redone, I don't quite have the needed cash. What a dilemma, no ridable bike, but then there's always pictures like above.

I don't feel so bad for you. I got to ride my bike less than 400 miles since I acquired the Italian Stallion. Good news is new used motor should be arriving in time for Christmas

Re: Struck Me as Odd....
Let's try this:

Still runs "good," just needs a litttle TLC and maybe a grand $ at my local shop, MotoForza. (Unlike many of you, I'm not so mechanically inclined--all thumbs.

Re: Struck Me as Odd....
I may have to contact Chuck about his titled frame. I have these two frames and some really cool ideas for another Paso Project, but South Carolina is changing their laws on titles, and I've been told that the two I have may end up being nothing but scrap metal. I'm still hoping the one guy can find the title that was given with the bike he parted out (but never transfered the title to his name....so he can't get a new titled issued).RADDUCK wrote:Good news is new used motor should be arriving in time for Christmas

Re: Struck Me as Odd....
I just got my paso about four and a half months ago. It is my first street bike as I have ridden dirtbikes a lot, but I'm hooked. In four and a half months I have put over 10,000 miles on my duc. I ride a very curvy road every day to and from work. It is a 140 mile round trip. I look forward to going to work every day, just because the ride is so enjoyable. I appreciate all the help I've gotten from all the other paso owners on here. I really get a kick out of the enthusiasm showed by everyone on this site. Cheers to you all
