Re: Fairing Numbers?

That looks like a factory part number. 'DM' = Ducati Meccanica, and I'm guessing it would be your right side panel.
Re: Fairing Numbers?
Is there anyway to get the vin information from the engine and have ducati look it up etc?
To make a long story short there is no vin stamped by the handle bars for what ever reason, the vin plate on the left side was taken off when the frame was powder coated 10 years agoand put in a file with the title. That has been lost from a move and the DMV here can not look it up in the systems for what ever reason.
Any ideas on what I can do? I thought it was on the plastics but that is a no go.

Re: Fairing Numbers?
If you know where the vehicle was originally purchased from and the date there is a possibility that Ducati Italy will be able to get you the information you require as they asked for my title details as they did not have them recorded (ie me as a new owner) and this differed from their own records.
Give them the engine number and if it's the original motor you may get lucky.
They can also update their own database aswell as they have a list of all original owners apparently???
Send an email to this lady and see if you get a response it wont be immediate but I have found them pretty exact and useful and they have always responded positively.

Re: Fairing Numbers?
Isn't there the vin number on the head tube?
I called to Ducati customer service, but for the vintage bikes, they only tell if there is corriepondance beetween the engine and the frame numbers, so that you can't to forge the engine number to get it in accordance with the frame number, or viceversa.
I hope you'll be lucky so that they'll tell what you need.
Ciao
