Wheels?

Post by Bud »

I recently bought a 1991 model 907. Having sorted out a few minor problems with the rear shock and fuel filter I could not be more happy with the bike. It is in great standard condition but the wheels are black? They look original and dont seem to have been repainted or powder coated. I know the bike was a grey import from Italy (arent they all?) and was wodering if maybe black wheels were standard in any countries? It looks nice with these wheels and easier to keep clean.
Also does anyone know if you can still get the MIR stickers for the front forks?

Cheers
Allan.

Hi Allan,

I'm happy for you that you are so satisfied with your 907.
as far as I know the wheels were always white on 907's
but on some 750 SS, 851, 888 or 900's were black wheels.
These wheels are the same as the 907 in dimensions. you just switch them.
M1R stickers? never saw them for sale, so probably hard to get.
If more people are interested it's possible to print a couple.

Definitely, I would say the wheels are painted or perhaps the stock wheels were replaced.
About the M1R stickers, I also would be interested.

Thanks for that. Suppose wheels could be from 900ss or similar but I am sure they have not been painted.
I would be very interested if we could get some M1R stickers sorted out.
I will try to post some pics of my 907 but not to good with computers!

Some years of 851 were black and they have similar swing so a pair
of those are a possibility.

Hi all,
haven't done anything sofar about reproduction of the decals.
but with Antii's 6 we have 12.
But it gets time to move my ass.

By the way Antii I have no file of any kind at the moment.
I think about printing 25 to 30 pieces.
I inform you all any about progress I make.

Two sets of Decals please for me

Regarding the wheels - They are common with the "ss" series bikes so can be swopped out very easily to give black wheels

Where abouts in the world are you ? UK by any chance ?

Yes in UK, 30 miles north of Newcastle. Iam sure your right wheels come from an ss. Not sure why they have been changed as there is no obvious sign of any crash damage in the past, maybe a previous owner got sick of cleaning white ones! Anyway they are in perfect condition so will probably leave in black.

Is that the Mdina Italia bike by any chance ?

I'm actually thinking about turning my wheels and swingarm black so looked at that to get an idea of what it might look like !

Welcome to the 907 fold anyway

Yes that is where the previous owner bought it. He was less than impressed with service he recieved from them, but thats another story.
Thanks for the welcome, this forum is proving very helpful. I am not totally new to the Paso experience having previously owned a 906 and a 907 several years ago and various other Ducatis since then, cant seem to help myself!
