Stingray230SX wrote:Thank you Francesco, i have went ahead and ordered the oil seals and dust scrapers from marzocchi. it seems that the oil seals are a go and hopefully the dust scrapers will be the right ones as well, so i think it is a good experiment to confirm these p/n's for future reference.

they were going to ship them out today and i am already in the process of getting ready to get them installed.

if for some reason these are not correct i will gladly take you up on your kind offer to try to locate these ....

thanks again

Cagiva Elefant 900ie uses the same seal. Below a part of a mail I posted on an Elefant mailing list after a long internet search, it will also be effective for Paso and 907:

The 900ie (and the older models) have 41,7 mm Marzocchi forks. These
are stepped seals (hight 7,5/10 mm).

Replacement seals:
BMW 31422312928, K1 and K1100 RS.
Ariete ARI.083

FYI: BMW parts are not very expensive and easy obtainable.

Thanks Michiel, it seems that the marzocchi p/n is also readily available: 528134 for the stepped oil seal.

I am still wondering about the dust seal/scraper p/n though.
marzocchi lists two that have the 41.7 mm id. and the tech rep for them gave me the one that most closely matches the measurements taken by a couple of the guys on the board here, and i am waiting now to confirm that they are correct,if so i will have a good marzocchi p/n for the dust seal/scraper as well.

do you have a bmw p/n for the dust seal/scraper?

thanks again

Hi Doug,

I know the Marzocchi no. is still available, but finding a shop that does business with Marzocchi in Holland has proven difficult, Beemer shops and Ariete suppliers can be found in abundance over here.

Unfortunately I haven't got the Beemer no. for the dust seal, I did't write that down at the time and I cannot find the link to the specific web page anymore, seems to have been removed. But any BMW spcialist should be able to come up with the number for you.

I realized AGAIN this eve, that 750 Pasos oil seal DONT fit to 907 at all! 750 seals are too thick. 907 need thinner seal and it can be found from Ducati dealer, but how about dust scrapers? Are they still available to 907 from Ducati, or no ??????

the 907 has a stepped seal and is 7 mm at the spring ring at the outside and 10.? at the stanchion.
a 10 mm high seal only fits if the steel washer is left out.
dustscrapers should be available at the Ducati dealers. mine hat several sets on stock.

yesterday I was in a shop of JCB earth moving equipment looking for hydraulic connections were I saw dustscrapers very similar to the M1R types. dimensions I remember were 52 x 42x 10. So these parts must be available on regular bases in shops specialized in hydraulic parts.
