I do a lot of maintenance on my machine, more than is recommended by the service manual.Finnpaso wrote: I think, Your bike is much more better, than "average bike" in markets!(caused Your behaving), But surely You had to make all notes to notebook, etc, that You know exactly, when and what have You done to Your bike.... Its better "paper", than "stamps" in owners manual. I know very many examples, that Ducati dealers havent done, what they should done in maintain.... Its quite same with me: I know exactly, what need to do and how to do, so i trust much more to myself, than any official Ducati dealer...

A dealer would refuse to strip and regrease the swingarm and steering head each year. The manual tells me each service directive and I am usually a few thousand Km early. Has anyone noticed that a strip/lubricate of the steering head is not mentioned in the manual?

Re: Caveat emptor "Let the buyer beware". Clutch drum
I know that "misfire" about those lubrications in owners manual maintaining part, but i would say, that its not VERY important thing. Pasos have good quality steering head bearings compared to ST series, so with normal kms/year, i would open AND CHANGE those bearings every 50-60 000kms. Its easy to check, if they need to replace! About swingarm: I have opened those now in all my 3 Pasos and noticed, that bearings are high quality and they need replacing about every 80 000-100 000kms, or so. If want to look/open them, then surely wash all bearings very well and lubricate again with good quality bearing grease and change only seals. Thats enough! But have to remind, that NEVER use high pressure washing machine to bearing(s) area !!!! That is easy way to destroy bearings, like in swingarm, wheels, steering head.... As evrybody knows, Ducati manuals, no matter what manuals they are, have many mistakes, faults and misunderstoods.... U have to read them by using also your own brains.... Its just similar, as with GPS and normal map. If You trust only to GPS navigator, You get lost very fastly... GPS is very usefull tool, BUT ONLY WITH looking/thinking normal map....

That would be Sprocket, my 80 lb standard poodle, who constantly fights with my 7YO son Elliott for who gets to ride in the sidecar.Finnpaso wrote:Nothing to this topic, But Sam, is it You, Your wife, or who????... (in Your avatar)? Very curious now....
Of course, that begs the same question for you - in your avatar, is that you, your wife, or...
....your pet?

Finnpaso wrote: It would be BEST to these PASO sites, that everybody TRY to write very simple "english", that everybody understand all here. i am waiting some feedback, especially from USA guys now.... Hopefully those understand, what i mean now.... Here are also huge number of such persons(Paso owners!!!), who understand only/few/some english... think it!
That's a very good point. I appreciate the international flavor of the list, and I also appreciate all of you who do us folks in the US the favor of using English to share you thoughts. Reminds me of the following:
One who speaks three languages is trilingual
- speaks 2 languages is bilingual
- speaks one language is American

As y'all may be aware , the Australian language is very special ,we were given the English version of it, and we have butchered it over two hundred years, surely this must make us Aussies "cunning linguists!!!!".One who speaks three languages is trilingual

Disheartning about the post on the post Laddie, but have you seen the mish mash of people out there who couldn't give a f*ck for their mother.

I'll second that emotion! In other words, I extend my thanks and appreciation to everyone, too.samandkimberly wrote: I appreciate the international flavor of the list, and I also appreciate all of you who do us folks in the US the favor of using English to share your thoughts. Sam
And it looks like someone will translate any post in just about any language (even French). Heck, I could probably write something in Bostonese that would be incomprehensible beyond Route 128
