Sensor mini-timer connectors

Post by Shelboss »

I just wanted to share with you all about my experience with connectors on the PASO. I was missing the three position mini-timer wire lock on my air pressure sensor and it caused intermittent problems with the bike. I found a source for these at http://www.m-cal.com/Products/list/Connectors/. Most of the other sensors on the Paso are 2 pin versions of the mini or junior timer connectors. These are hard to find in the US, easy in England. The Amp super seal connector available here is what is used on the diagnostic port on my 907 IE. I now have spare female contacts and wire-locks, which is really nice

Here in EU i use those AMP waterproof connectors as much as possible, but they are not so cheap here.... :smoke: btw, there is also very good tools for those AMP connectors, but also they are very expensive... Good quality = high price!

I just changed the 3 position connector on the barometric pressure sensor, the replacement connector is plug compatible with the sensor, but you can't just use the wire bale-lock from the new to the old. You must either pop the pins out and use the new housing (good luck!) or put new contacts on. I have an Amp crimper so I went with new contacts. The original housings says Ford on it, so maybe some European Fords from that era use these?

the Weber marelli P7 ECU and sensors are used on lots of cars..
the Ford Cosworth has the same system (and probably shares the air pressure sensor, too).

The mini-connectors are a problem; even Weber asked me for pictures of a connector a while back.
