Hi All,

My name is Mike and I live in Canberra, Australia. After riding Japanese bikes for years, I have finally succumbed to a red Paso 750 as my first Italian. Picking up the bike in Sydney on Saturday and I can hardly wait! Haven't given up on the products from the Far East though, the daily ride is still a GSX750F and a pop-up Katana is also awaiting some attention in the shed. There are just so many bikes that are begging you to take them home...

The forum looks great, lots of very knowledgable people < makes bow to poo-bahs > and the information is excellent. I don't even have the Paso here yet and I'm already thinking about mods such as the relais in the starter circuit, 17" wheels and a fuel pressure regulator.

I look forward to speaking to you all.

Cheers,

Mike

Hi & welcome.
Before considering any modification be sure that all regular maintainance is done (or was done not long ago). Starting from belts, valve clearance, fork oil etc. You may also check the whole electrics and clean all contacts, specially the ground contacts.

So, I sold my old "perfect" (but very boring) Honda Hornet and bought 2 907s    .

The belts have been changed and the valves have been set recently. I'm definitely planning to take the bodywork off when I get it home to do a bit of an assessment of the electrics etc.

That will be an interesting one. The Japanese certainly got reliability down pat (apart from the bloke who designed Suzuki rectifier/regulators though). I'll just have to wait and see what the famous (infamous?) temperament of a Duc is going to be like. And as I mentioned earlier, there is always the trusty GSX as Plan B.

Only one more sleep to go before I pick it up!

Aw Come on Mike bite me , you under arm bowler you, :P
One thing for sure is that you will realise just how much the japs have spoilt you . Just take your time as there are some cheap fixes to common problems with the ole paso. Mine nearly drove me nuts when i first got it , all the normal shit plus it had been owned by a dickhead ( some say it still is ).
