stupid question of the day
I have a split coolant reservior overflow tank.
I want to do the fix described in the 907ie tech section.
I cant find the photograph that I know is there. I've seen it before.
Could someone please direct me to the pic?
Thanks
Sheldon

Hi Jon.
I did do a weld of sorts (didn't know there was a post on that) but I'm not confident it will hold to 13 psi so I figured the right thing to do is the do the de-pressurize the bottle trick using the Honda filler neck. That's the pic I want.

Re: stupid question of the day
I did the fix with the Honda part today. I bought a coolant neck for a CBR1000 on Ebay and it fit just fine using the hoses and clamps that came with it. It only took about an hour to install the neck. Busy day, I also replaced all the fuel lines, and coated the fuel tank with POR 15. I purchase the Napa Auto fuel pump and will install it after the POR 15 sets up

What CBR 1000 MY?
Since the 906/907 coolant tank is no more available, it's a good trick.
Could you put some photo of the "new" tank fitted on the bike?
Ciao

Re: stupid question of the day
when the coolant tank is welded properly it will hold.
I did mine 3 years ago and still holds.
the welding costed me only € 15 and an hour drive.

Sheldon, I have some pics of the CBR 1000 coolant neck I just put on my bike. Not sure how to send them thru this site though. You can email me at xshelbyoner@hotmail.com and I'll send them to you.

Re: stupid question of the day
Sheldon.
I got a coolant reservoir for a Kawasaki EX250 and it fits fine where the Ducati tank was. Two small brackets can be easily made to mount it to the original bracket behind the headlight. I should have it mounted tomorrow. Send me your email address again if you want pictures. I got it on ebay for $15 with shipping. This is a permanent fix .
