Higgy,

thanks for the offer....Actually we're going to "repair" the body work, molds have been made and new panels will soon be produced. The plan is make Carbon-fiber body work

The big thing will be the tank, any leads on where i could find one OR will a Caviga of the same vintage fit?

Thanks

you can use a tank from a Paso 750 or a 906. The one of the 907 is a bit differet although it looks the same

There is 2 different type of 907 tanks also, as some have that "water feed" to down, some dont have it.... its connected with different fuel caps... :smoke:

here is a picture of the 3.5 with its markings
Higgy, I just took the airbox off my Weber and found the same 3.5 venturis as in your photo. Sorry I couldn't help out.

to those of you that havn't tackled this sort of task , there are hours of work evidenced here.
I have filled and redrilled all the holes in my fairing , re shaped the edges to get equil and uniform gap in the body panels , fixed where some one had painted over the old stickers , sanded off all the old paint , some of which hadnt even set hard , re done previous repairs, quotes for the painting are around nz$1300 nz$ 400 for sign writing ( not stickers )
Phew ! accolades to the cook , poor girl . I mentioned that I would have to strip the wheels, when I came home (on her day off ) I found her covered in shit , broken finger nails ( snigger ) having spent the whole day SANDING the rear wheel . It was spotless . I gave her a bug thankyou hug and quietly hid the can of paint stripper

I have a blue 906 tank. Some paint missing around the bolt tabs, but no dents, paint other than a couple the tabs I mentioned is perfect. It still has masking tape around the tubes. I hoped to us it for my 907 but it dose not look like it will work. I also have a blue upper and fender, I believe these are the part someone else mentioned.

***UPDATE***

So I'm now in Africa with the US Navy to bring everyone up to speed:

The insurance totaled out the bike, I bought the bike back. Now with the insurance money a smart man would have walked away....... :D not me.....

The bike is currently in the able hands of the folks at Modern Classics ( http://modernclassicsdc.com/ )

And they are doing something kinky to the bike

As far as I know (please remember me in Africa, them in Washington,DC) the original gauges are gone replaced with LED clocks, i have no clue what colors this will be.

I am helping out by:
1. watching EBAY when I can
2. staying as far away from the bike as i can

As i get info and pics I'll try to post them.

I would assume that the Paso fairings are the same production process as the Sport's. If that is the case, then they are what they call SMC, or Sheet Molding Compound. Its like a pre-preg fiberglass sheet. It has all the resin and layers in a thick blanket that its loaded into a hot press for about 6-10 minutes until it is cured. So, basically its like fiberglass, and the same repair strategy.

Cheers,
