Mikuni float height????

Post by 21783mike »

I searched and could not find anything for the Mikuni's I have..... Mine have the floats in the bowl on rods which push up the tabs connected to the needle valve. I need to know at what height I should set the tabs, right now it pushes gas out the vent tubes so I know the short answer is they should be lower

try http://www.mikuni.com/
also
http://www.sudco.com/Carburetor01.html
so basically there are 2 choices depending on which flat slide you have.20mm for the early version and 18mm for the rest

I think you'll find that Mikuni BDST38 CV carbs from Monster/SS have a float height of 14mm from the gasket base to the diamond shaped float with the carb tilted enough to get the float tab to touch but not compress the fuel shutoff valve.

this is a useful trick - bottom of page "Float height setting trick"

Found it on the Mikuni site.... I have VM's, looks to be .66 to .74 inches. I'll be giving it a try today and see what I come up with... Thanks guys.
