Hi,
In front I moved the fender 6mm up (alu spacers) -> Metzeler SPORTEC M3 FRONT 130/70 ZR16.
To move the Crown to the left I made an alu Plate. I made documentation with Fotos and all plans for the change. But I’m still working in it. The avon is nice to drive (excellent grip, good handling in combination with the Metzeler) but making headache because of the size. Moreover I have troubles with the right wheel bearing.
As soon I have everything sorted out I’ll put the whole documentation incl. pics on the forum. The plans for the alu plate I can send you by mail if you need ( I have some problems to put pics on the Forum)
I have actually a plate of 8.5mm. But I made just two others of 9.5 and 10.5 mm (as already mentioned, de Avon is big). Moreover I moved the sprocket 4.5mm to the left (plans for this parts are as well available).
For the time being I would recommend you the Shiko, which seems to be smaller than the Avon.

Just an FYI guys...... The 747 Shinko is not shown on the Shinko USA website anymore, dunno but Motorcycle Superstore showed it as a closeout item when I ordered so it may be now another discontinued option...... I ordered 2 just in case.

As I was writing already 2 or 3 years ago that my next set would be Avons I finally got mine, too.
Paid €98 for the front AV45, €130 for the rear AV72 (mounting was €34 - grrr). (german webshop: http://www.mynetmoto.com ) Listprice of the rear tire is €219 according to the tire shop where I got them mounted on the rims. They sell it for €148,- which proves that there are huge price differences with Avon tires and that checking numerous shops really pays off.
Production date of my new set is cw19 and cw21/2009.
Front and rear tire are quite a bit different compared to the old ones. The front tire is a bit higher and rounder shaped, the rear is quite a bit taller and wider than the old one. All in all that should affect handling positively.
I put them on the bike this morning so here`re some pics. Clearance of the rear tire is about 10mm to side and front with the excentric adjuster in middle position.
I didn`t do anything with the chain yet, as I have to finish some other things first, but I`ll post my solution when it`s done.
The main general issue I see is that the stands are too short. The center stand only touches the floor with one leg so I will put on one of a 907ie this afternoon. The side stand is also too short and as a consequence the bike leans over too much. Update: the 907ie centerstand works just fine as it is a little longer. The bike stands with both wheels touching the ground, but it stands stable.

I have been also thinking "only" this combination to my 750 Paso. Let us know, how much chain hits to side of rear tire, or do it so at all... Are you planning to change chain line offset?

Why didn't you use the 120/70/16 pirelli diablo at the front?
I need new tires for mine as well and i was thinking the diablo in the front and a 180/60 dunlop at the rear

I`ll post when I continue, it may take a while though.
It`s the third year that I haven`t ridden the bike after stripping it to its very last screw and restoring/modifying it as perfect as I can. I`m in no hurry as you notice
but now I would like to have her on the road until my 40th birthday and there`s only a month and 4 days to go.
Won`t be able to finish the bike by then as I want it (too many mods still planned) but at least have it in the condition it was when I last passed the TUV. (Marvics, brakes, fork etc can all be done later)
Chain line offset must be changed but I`m willing to keep it as little as possible by offsetting the wheel by max 3mm. German TUV requires min 5min clearance between all fix and moving parts. So there needs to be min 5mm between chain and tire and tire and swingarm.

mixing tire brands and types is a risky thing and usually not recommended (ie one shouldn`t combine a sharp shaped supersport front tire with a round shape rear tire as that could result in odd riding behaviour). In Germany you need to get legal permission by the TUV (technical vehicle inspection). They need to sign it off and write it in your papers. A tire mix is often a no go by them. For this tire combination on the Paso I have a document of compliance from Avon Cooper Germany.Why didn't you use the 120/70/16 pirelli diablo at the front?

Instead of having the rear wheel chain adjuster at the 6 o' clock position, why not put it in the 12 o' clock position? This is what I did when I fitted an Avon Azaro AV-46 150/80ZR16, and the side and centre stands are now ok.

CiaoI put 8 mm spacers between the crown and the carrier. And I ride my bike with the Shinko combinated with a Dunlop 208 RR 130-70/16 without problems of diferent brands.
