Hello to everybody
I've always had a hankering for a Paso and I've just been told that one is available with 30K miles on it. It's supposed to be immaculate. My current bike is an '85 BMW K100, so I know about ageing electrcals!
But on the mechanical side? Belts, general wear and tear, I can cope with, but is there anything else I should be aware of?

If "your" Paso is a 907 you don't have to be worried too much.
After you have replaced the belts and checked (and replaced the bad) electrics connections you can
enjoy peacefully your "new" bike.
Check also for some oil leaks from the heads.

Thank you, that's the sort of thing I was looking for - and hopefully won't find! I've just got to wait for some dry weather now - UK, currently as wet as the sea.

907ie easiest of range to keep on the road and talking of the roads where are the one's that you ride on? Is your bike from a former member or is another new one for the register ( look for "injected" on the member list he is trying to catalog the Paso 907ie range.)

Hi Jon, and welcome! I think you'd be advised to check the oil strainer (they have a strainer and a filter) for slivers of crank gallery plug, which can sometimes back out and will eventually lead to the seizure of your engine. There is a good thread on this site on the topic complete with pictures. If you Google for other sites, be aware that a lot of people call it an oil 'galley' plug...
It's only a remote chance that yours'll be bad, but it's worth knowing before any money changes hands, and it's a simple job to do.

Thanks for that guys. I'm a bit of a suspicious old git and even on bikes where the PO promises that it's just been serviced, I service it at the first opportunity.
But now, I know what those bits of metal in the oil are!

Really, there would be many things to check (as the generator nut etc.)
But, what I'd say, the 907 is not a weak bike and she can be used quite as a nowaday bike.

I went to see my colleague who put me on to the 907, to get the owners phone number, and he wasn't at work - grrrr!
