Installing brake lines

Post by PasoRoo »

Hi all,

I have bought a set of HEL brake lines to sort out the spongy braking. I have decided to stay with the original layout so there are three lines in all.

The line from the left caliper to the junction has a slight twist in it and I'm not sure how to get rid of it. Where the ends on the original lines have an outer section that can rotate in the inner section to prevent twisting when you tighten them up, the HEL ones are crimped on the lines and can't do the rotating trick.

Is there a trick to this that I'm missing? :banghead:

Cheers,

Mike

With any type lines like that I twist them by hand a few turns counter clockwise before starting them in the hole... if you are lucky you end up without a twist when they are tightened down then.
