"Right" cylinder? Backfiring through the carb(s) or the exhaust? If it is through the exhaust, how do you know which cylinder it is since the exhaust has an "X" collector that both cylinders go to?

Whether it is the front (horizontal) or the rear (vertical) cylinder, check your belt tension first. My ST2 starts backfiring through the throttlebodies and the exhaust as the belts loosen up. If I do not adjust the belts between the 12k mile belt changes, it starts running really rough at about the 11k mark.

My 705 Paso was backfiring ALOT when it had Weber. Many times i took keys out from keylock and after 2-3 seconds it make usually very big "BANG".... It was very funny, but i taught, that such can destroy something in engine. But after i turned to Dellortos (and later to Mikunis) never since happen such. So, in my case it was that Weber, what made that backifiring.... It happened also when engine was hot and i made engine braking. Seems, that fuel "leaked" from Weber to inlets some way...
