This is a picture of the shaft that the two cam belt pulleys are on.(92 907IE)
Does any one know if the round black part around the shaft is a oil seal which can be easily replaced or is it a bearing cover ?
I have a small oil leak which i think is from this shaft

Cheers

It is a seal that can be replaced from the outside. My 907 leaked there after a shop rebuilt my engine. They said they didn't replace that seal and sure enough it started leaking. I took the bike back and they replaced the seal while I waited. It took them about two hours. I think they may have drilled a hole then used a sheet metal screw in the hole then pulled on the screw to get it out.

the seal has a metal kind of cup inside.
when you insert a wood or chipboard screw you can pull it out and replace without major disassembly.
or drive a screwdriver behind the seal and lever out the seal.

good luck,
