Black 907ie

Post by Rhino »

Just been on the images section of this site and seen a picture of a black 907 for the first time - never seen one in the flesh of course.

WOW!!

I have ALWAYS had black bikes and black cars, every one of them (Maserati, E-type, Harley, Norton etc. etc.). Except my Dukes - gotta be red - wouldn't be right otherwise.

WRONG!!!

Damn - but the black 907 is GORGEOUS!! And HEY! The Devil would look kinda cool on a black bike.

I'm a convert. Drool, rant, froth, etc. . . . .

there`s one in my dealer`s showroom. 1st owner bike, well kept, completely original. Noone`s interested in it. Meanwhile is was completely checked through and rebuilt. Still no interest. (click on "Bilder ansehen")

Matthew Ch16:v23 King James Version springs to mind.

There's just no way I can justify it to She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed. If I could then . . .
I mean if it was a different model Duke to the two I've just bought (and still not yet seen!) then MAYBE I could come up with some sort of story.

But the same bike . . .

Just a different colour . . .

I'd never get away with it.

Instead, I did it.
After a red 907 I bought a great black 907.
Only one owner, less than 10,000 kms., good price.

About that black "German" 907, I don't like the stripes on the fairing.
I prefer the all black look, as the New Zealander Rugby Union team (I was a rugby player)

sure when we are all standing around stroking our beards the colour (red black yellow orange blue silver grey) is worth consideration BUT when you are putting your machine through a series of bends or powering up a long steep hill colour is the last thing on your mind.  :)

Mc tool - (Big Grin) Sheep jokes? Coming from a Kiwi? Pots calling kettles black methinks!

Tamburinifan - Wise words mate.

du907 - I used to agree, and, if I were to be honest (I'm a lawyer remember) I'd have to admit that my next purchase - having sold all my cars - will be another red Duke. Even if the Italian racing colour is BLUE (not red).

nnnnnnorman - You are SO RIGHT

Blue is the French racing colour.

Italian racing colour is RED (Ducati, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo...)
