New Paso Owner
Re: New Paso Owner
Well, I've been contacted by the previous owner that confirmed some things. micklm ,you were correct. The motor and cases are from a 750 SS. He doesn't recall the year but it was 91\93. It has high compression pistons and headwork that was completed in Stuttgart, Germany. The heads and the carb conversion were done by an "old Ducati mechanic/ ex race technician". The bike has been "all over the Swiss and Italian Alps as well as the Ilse of Mann". He tells me he even has the old cases , pistons and the heads. He also says its quite a bit more powerfull than stock. Can't wait to find out. I'm expecting all parts very soon. Will keep you posted.

All taughts went to some this direction....
NOT such engine from factory....
It would be nice to see dynorun result from this bike to see difference to some normal Paso 750 engine, but both bikes should dynoed in SAME dyno to see differences...

It's a wise thing keep the stock parts.ike wrote:He tells me he even has the old cases , pistons and the heads. He also says its quite a bit more powerfull than stock. Can't wait to find out. I'm expecting all parts very soon. Will keep you posted.

Re: New Paso Owner
Last night I picked up ECU and other bits. Changed the oil,cam belts, plugs and wires . Put in fresh gas and it fired right up! Sounds amazing with those cans. Turns out the motor is from a 93 SS and is within 200 kms of the original motor. Quite an interesting life the bike has had. But well looked after maintenance wise. Now on to the wheel / tire issue.... Will keep you posted .Regards.

Hi, I also like a puzzle.
You could also have look at the cast parts of the engine and you will find round cast-in marks indicating the year of the cast. The are all over the engine (but sometimes inside).
Cheers Joep
