Trying Bridgestone Battlax BT023 Sport Touring tyres.
Hi Guys, just bought a new set of Bridgestones. I liked the old set which were BT020`s so i`d thought i would stick with the same brand. They tell me these ones are a true `sport tourer` which has a hard section in the middle and a softer section on the sides. They have actually labelled the tyres `sports touring`. So they must be?
I`m always sus when hear dual compounds mentioned, as the ones i get seem to be the wrong way round - hard on the sides and soft in the middle.......
But that could just be me!
I went for the 180/55 rear and 120/70 front.
Felt a bit weird at first with the slightly larger rear, but after a couple of rides, i don`t notice any difference now.
It does look better from the back though and isn`t that what it`s all about?
Street cred, ya gotta have it.................

I run 023's on my Multistrada and love them. Great handling and long lasting.

Hi fredskidoo,no not stock, the previous owner had a mate who polished rims.
I was so close to painting them back to the original white just before i put the tyres on this time, but i chickened out. i might look for a second set of rims. I don`t think it`s cheap to polish rims?

I like bridgy sp/tourers on 907, got a 180 020 on the back and got a slightly used 021 to go on the front soon.
Been told 021 F's wear fast, bout the same life as a rear, but for £10 Im not bothered. Chunky tread pattern.

Hi 907Pasonut, i bought the sprocket through Pratt&Osbourne motors. They are no longer in business.
I got what details i could off it for you;
Brand - AFAM (France)
Part No - 51602-40
Type - Alloy
hope this helps.

Re: Trying Bridgestone Battlax BT023 Sport Touring tyres.
a little off topic but similar sprockets (at least regarding the colour) can be found from Supersprox.
Polishing is not cheap if you have it done, but you can do it yourself if you have the time and patience. All it takes is a polishing set many bike shops sell which is used with the drilling machine. Depending on condition of the part sanding with very fine grade paper is required before polishing. I just did a set of triple trees last weekend. Polished parts become dull rather fast and therefore need constant care.

Hi Gert, i have not done anything to the chain guard except put some inox spray or WD40 on it. Keeps the plastic looking shiny i suppose.
