My understanding of the Cobra is the rolling chassis was built in England, then shipped here where the body and suspension got changes and the engines installed. After they went to Italy where the Italians decided the body mods had been all wrong and promptly corrected it. Which by the way made the car significantly slower than the prototype.
Info comes from a documentary on the history of the Cobra

Like most things that are "made in America" they are in fact made internationally and have been all along right down to the " made in America" labels

The 907 is ,little older look, noisi, red, italian design, little unreliable some times, whith electric problems, Temperamental, And fundamentally ROMANTIC whit this je ne sais quoi For me like a Fiat 1500 Coupe designed by Vignale ? U know? Or like a Sophia Loren
