1st ride of the year

Post by loki1957 »

I went on my first ride of the year a few days a go. Over the long winter I got new tires and had the carbs rebuilt. I'm riding along thinking how much better it runs with the rebuilt carbs. Not 30 seconds later it goes off note. The 1st thing I think is now what. It's spent more time in the shop since I bought it than I have riding it. Well turned out I was out of gas. The gas gauge stops working at a half tank and I only had 86 miles on the tank. Well anyway I'm empty. Now what? I called a good friend and his wife came and bailed me out. The tank is now full and I'll have to keep a closer eye on it from now on.

This happened to me the first time I rode my bike. Only I had to push it back to a gas station... :banghead: :banghead:

I ended up disconnecting the wire because I couldn't get it to read properly and the fuel light coming on was getting annoying. Now I just rely on my odometer
