I have a small dilemma:
I've got an opportunity to buy a 1990 Sport 750, it's in pretty good shape, rear wheel is converted to 17" and all original parts included. My other option is a 1997 SS 750. I'm having a hard time choosing between these two. The sport has 57000 km's on it and the SS has only 21000. The price is about the same for both, but the sport has some spare parts included in the sale.
My plans are not to keep the bike original, but to replace the fairings with a 70's style front fairing. I've also planned to do a new cafe-racer style rear section to the bike.
Of course all mods will be done so that the bike can be returned to original, so even if I end up buying the sport, it won't be ruined.
So, what to do...

If so, I'd go for the one I'm attracted from.
However, in spite they are quite similar each other, the SS is a more modern bike.

Re: Sport dilemma
My vote would be for the 1990 Sport. More rare, so it would stand out more. Has a nicer looking frame which is begging to be shown off. I am in full agreement to put a 70's fairing on it. Do the seat section while you are at it.
Cheers,
Phil
ps. Good to have the site up again.

Re: Sport dilemma
It´s raining outside so a good time to post something on the internet...
I Decided to go for the supersport, found a SS900 in good condition so I bought it. Since the bike is going to be a caferacer projectbike, in the style of those Ducati sportclassic series, I thought that the SS is less rare and I didn´t have to be so concerned about a possible restoration.
So what I´m going to do now is to ride the bike for this summer and gather up parts for the winter.
Still kinda hoping I had enough money to purchase the S750 that I mentioned in my first post and keep original...
