Timing belts

Hello again lads,

The Sport has been off the road for about a month after getting a puncture and having no money for a new tyres (£240 ) So I've ordered some new ones today. I now need some new timing belts for peace of mind really. I'm watching some Dayco belts on ebay atm as I really can't afford ducati stuff. However, I was hoping the paso ones would fit as there are some real ducati ones on ebay for pasos.

Any advice or info on the dayco belts would be great.

Never buy used rubber, no matter what it is or who used it before.
but if they are new, then what fits the Paso fits the Sport. I get them from Ca. Cycle works.

"68 SQUARE PROFILE TEETH" is right. Weird is it states SL/Paso/SS/M 91-97. SL and Paso are 10 years older, however the number of teeth and their profile is correct. So these are the ones you`ll need.

Here they are less than half the price and even though shipping costs will be a little higher as the shop is here in Germany you`ll still save:

according to the photo and the title, yes but you can ask. Doesn`t make a big difference if they are from DAYCO, GATES etc.
(no need to say you`d have to order two)

It's just the price is abit off putting, but as it says they are the standard ducati parts. Made sure to order haha

Price is relative - one of the business units of a company that I work for supplies Gates with urethane products. There is a huge amount of R&D involved in the production of belts and companies like Gates need a solid return on investment if they're going to survive from a medium to long term perspective.

Belts arrived yesterday, whats that 3 days from germany? for £10 postage? Bargain. So all in all, 2x ducati OEM belts for £30 including delivery. I'm one very happy chappy, now to pay £100 to get them fitted

Time you learned to do them yourself. There's nothing to it and it only takes half an hour once you know how.

It's just one of those things where I'm scared to attempt it as it could mess everything up. Where as if the mechanic does it, he'll have to get me a replacement engine/bike

It will be something I need to learn but I'd rather get shown in person than follow the internet. Will ask around, sure theres a few ducati owners near me lol.

Yeah, its just another thing to bring a thrill to your heart when you are doing a ton up and thinking about your belts, or if you torqued the sprocket bolts correctly.

I have developed an easy and more bullet-proof way of doing the belts. I have not uplloaded them to DucatiSuite yet could put them up and send a link to you if you want to try it.
