Its working well thanks and been in regular use but I haven't done anymore to it. I'm still running high preload and 120/60 tyre to prevent contact. I intend to strip it and finish a few jobs now the weathers turned. I'm going to take the legs out, change the fluid and replace a damaged damper rod, and resite the rad a bit higher. I'd like to powder coat the wheels black but I think they'll be getting aerosoled for now. The motor needs oil and belts. I fixed the speedo over read by putting a Km/mph converter at the drive, it now reads low by about 10%, but I can live with that.
As for the ride I would say slight improvement, it feels a bit more nimble and positive around town and they're a nice bike on an open road anyway.

That bike above is so low in the front. No wonder there are clearance problems and quick steering. I wonder about the negative effects that come with it though.

G, its the same height as standard. When I've moved the rad I hope to drop the forks a bit lower. The increase in yoke offset has moved the forks forward by 4mm, slowing the steering a touch, the 60 profile tyre has countered that I think.
Someone should try a 120/60 on standard bike, I paid £10 for a used one, it might work well, takes a bit to get used to though, now the bike feels more precise round sharp corners, I haven't given it beans round fast sweepers yet but feel confident it'll go where I want it to. I've got to behave for a while, my license is on the max

I`m not referring to your bike but the one linked above.
I doubt very much this has the original height in the front.
I had a Showa fork once and it was quite a bit shorter than the one of my Paso which would explain these photos.


An original 907ie as direct comparison. Just look at the distance from floor to lower fairing and mudguard to headlight fairing.

Sorry, didn't see the link, it is very low, those legs are about 90mm shorter than 907 type M1R's. The SSie legs that I wanted to use originally are 60mm short. There's mention of ohlins in the advert, the 750Paso ohlins is too short for a 907 also. Dont like the paint or the style much.

Update.
Over the winter I stripped the front out, checked and adjusted the headstock and changed the forkoil and a damper rod. I put in 600mm of 7.5w as per Multistrada handbook. I managed to raise the rad 20mm with some homemade alloy brackets, as high as I can get it before the top touches the subframe. The first thing the tyre will kiss now is the cylinder head so thats that. The header tank outlet is slightly uphill so unless I can modify that(difficult) I'll have to keep the coolant level on the higher level.
I got it all back together by end April and got the bike MOT'd and tried it out for a day or so to see how it is. Now I have the correct oil in the forks the travel is considerably less, by adout 50mm. This has allowed me to raise the legs in the yokes by 10mm which brings the bottom yoke clamps off the part of the legs that taper and onto solid leg. That is very good.
I haven't used the bike till now as I've been scaring myself on my 999 but June 1st I taxed the 907 and went out on it for the day, getting it ready for a trip to Spa Bikers Classic.
It's fantastic, I'm not sure whats clicked, lowering the forks, the oil level/factory multisrada setting(including less preload) The bar position is further foward and flatter, how I like it, in the 70's my bikes always had Dominator Straights so that might be part of it, but I can throw the bike into corners and roundabouts easier than on the 999. I'm really chuffed with how it rides.

Just about finished now, I've raised the forks another 5mm in the yokes since these pics were taken, and it now has a 120/70 021 tyre.

Keith seeing as you are going down the non spec route why not replace the radiator with a smaller one from another bike that may fit and use a different type of coolant ...maybe something like this http://liquidintelligence115.co.uk/ I am going to use the synthetic coolant when I get my motor up and running just for the enhanced non corrosion properties....it is expensive but then at least you never have to change it or worry about the winter again.

This is total fork travel, before I replaced the fluid them they were bottoming out.
Steering lock bolts straight in but needs about 1mm filed off the rear body/pin to clear frame lock bracket.

Standard radiator is working ok, being raised 20mm means the feed from the header goes uphill but if I keep it topped up it shouldn't be a problem.
