I have been using the Oddessey batteries for about 5 years now, and I'm pretty happy with them. They certainly hold a charge longer than normal lead acid batteries. But, I have heard that the new Lithium Ion (Lion) batteries are even better, but of course much more expensive. You get what you pay for basically. How long do you intend to own this bike?
Cheers, Phil

Re: Which bits?
I don't know how long I will keep it. If I can ride it without needing surgery
and love the bike, then I will have to sell my Triumph. I have three bikes at the moment and only the Triumph is on the road so garage space is very tight. Otherwise, if I have to sell the 907 someone is going to get a bike with some decent stuff on it!
I will have a serious look at the Odyssey batteries.
The AFAM chain and sprockets arrived early this morning. I only ordered them from http://www.biketorqueracing.co.uk/ yesterday. Excellent service!

Re: Which bits?
Appreciate the heads up although re Chain and sprockets I always get a complete set and have not seen an issue when asking for a specific 907ie model item ...having said that I haven't asked that often and brought but I do ask if they are available and had no issues mentioned?Steve just be careful here - there are at best 2 options for a front sprocket as the 907 sprocket is I think unique or at least rare in the Ducati crop of bikes due to ist off set. There are modifications but if you're looking at Like for like you are looking at Ducati Gen (unobtanium) or AFAM (i think)
These go to and I spoken with at the Stafford show and I think they visit most of the big shows on the circuit ?
I was about to recommend http://www.sprocketsunlimited.com/ or http://www.the-chain-man.co.uk/index.html for chain & sprockets as I've used both & they don't sell crap.
My neighbour has a Caravan that has a solar panel from Maplins that he uses to trickle charge his battery it is also suitable using the amp re dial on it to suit its use with a motorbike battery. My difficulty with battery choice is that I don't have power to my garage and cannot therefore leave the battery on a trickle charge. The garage is a good distance from the house, so an extension lead is out too.

I think I have a Maplins solar panel somewhere; never used it.
I seem to remember that it was too feeble to be of any use. I probably bought the wrong one, knowing me! (That's why I have been asking so many questions on here recently!)
I'll look into it.
Thanks English

Re: Which bits?
the tyres I fitted to the bike 2yrs ago are theDunlop Sportmax Q2, and according to this video not a bad choice...double compound, steep tyre angle 50/50 road track design...all this technology might be wasted on the 907, but I think it is good insurance

Re: Which bits?
Just throwing in my bit.
Just purchased a set of Bridgestone BT023 GT's. They are more for the bigger Sport/Touring, but was convinced by very good arguement.
The 907 came with a new battery, which is a Gel type. Brand name is MOTORBATT. Size is 19AH, which is about 140CCA.
Use a good quality regulator with the Solar Panel. We use a Sunsaver10 or 20 at work, and they are pretty much idiot proof. Panel goes to one set of terminals, battery to the next, load to the last set. No programming of the regulator required. It just works. The 10 is probably a bit big (Amp wise), but they come in less rated size.
Cheers.
Nick.

Re: Which bits?
I bought a Varta battery in the end, from http://www.batteries4motorcycles.co.uk/
Cost = £52.97 which included the £9 delivery charge.
My decision was based on price, not knowing if, or how long, I will be keeping the bike, and speed of delivery.
I ordered it yesterday afternoon at 12.00 mid day and it arrived at 9.00am this morning. I am extremely pleased with the service and I'm sure the battery will be up to the job
.
Next week - Tyres ! (Aaaarrrrgh , I hear you cry
