red 907ie on ebay uk

Post by Jimmy907 »

Well Its back on ebay with a lie that it is re listed due to haggling, it wasn't, I bought it and it was not as described so I walked away

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290941995029? ... 1423.l2649

If you are going to buy a Paso/907ie and you do not at least skulk around this forum for a bit then you must be mad so if you are looking at this bike on ebay be aware there is a stonking hole in the RH exhaust (which may now have been bodged up) and the forks are pitted. oh and a massive scratch across the tank on the RH side.

I nearly just bought it out of pity for the bike as it was in such a sorry looking state, but I know it would have cost ££££'s to get right

It is a 20 yeas old bike what would you expect?

In the pictures it looks nice for that age and the descripion ties up with them.

The mileage is low, worth considering as most are weel over that !

if you want a newer bike I guess you need to look somewherelse, maybe through a dealer...

Thanks for that lovely constructive response

does the description say "pitted forks" no
does it say "hole in the side of the exhaust" erm no

if it did then I would have been better informed and not bid the amount I did

I have stood and inspected it and I am warning others that the description is not accurate and i would be gutted
if I went to pick that up after paying nearly £2k for it especially I was taking a trip down to cornwall to pick it up.

And just for your information I currently own 2 other 20 year old Ducatis so I am fully aware of condition versus age.

Peace :smoke:

You can see the exhaust is blowing in the video.

Easiest way to warn of faults is to post on the You tube entry that way everyone gets to see them.

One look at the seller's history tells you he's a bit of a dealer in second-hand tat. Nothing wrong with that, but a paper trail of invoices, previous MOTs and a bit of history from a previous owner would go a long way to reassure me that what I'm buying is genuine.

My ebay nightmare was a Toyota Lancruiser I nearly bought a couple of years ago. Travelled to Essex having been assured that the truck's handbook showed a complete record of main dealer servicing. There were lots of stamps in the handbook, unfortunately they'd all been put there by the guy trying to sell it. He got nasty when I pointed this out, and tried to insist that an ebay contract was legal and binding - ho ho ho!

It was relisted the next day "due to timewaster" ...
