Sea Foam?

Post by nickta »

Hi Higgy.

Being in the bush, finding anything of use is generally to hit eBay. I found this

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sea-Foam-Eng ... 43bd73d9f7

Is this the Product Sea Foam you referred to?

Also found a magic potion on another forum.

Seafoam is made up of the following:-
50% Pale Oil (refrigerant mineral oil or 2 stroke oil will do)
30% Naptha (Zippo lighter fluid or camping stores)
20% Isopropyl Alcohol (Bunnings)

Is this a fair mix to make Sea Foam?

As always, take it easy.

Cheers.

Nick.

Yes, that link is for the notorious Sea Foam. Use it all the time, and it works great.
Toss some in your tank in the fall, and then again on your first few tanks in the spring, and it keeps it all well and good. The alcohol absorbs water, so it won't rust out your tank. I use about a bottle a year between two bikes.

As far as mixing up your own in the kitchen sink, i hope you are a better chemist than I. Its cheap enough to just buy it.

Cheers, Phil .
