G'day wiggs. its good to know people from the site make it all the way over here. I believe I was doing some filing when my boy took that one. is there any work that doesn't involve filing?
I werent involved in the celebration you mention - i think i was out in the country up north somewhere. theres a lot of other good things riders do together here, and all round the world, eh? Im an unsociable bugger tho - just like riding alone.
All the best, mate.

Hello all, just thought i would comment on this topic after sourcing new blanks for an existing key (the rounded ignition type and the seat lock). I had great feedback and help from a company in Australia http://www.keys4classics.com , who identified the key as their key blank number #253
well here's a copy of my invoice for 2 ignition blanks and 2 seat lock key blanks.
2 of #253 GT5BP @ 4.95
2 of #325 MER1@ 3.50
Shipping 2.95
TOTAL US$19.85
Hope this helps someone...

Have also dealt with Keys for Classics, very good people. Early '91 907 used left over 906 tumblers, which used very slightly different blank, when told wouldn't work, he immediatey sent the right ones at no charge. Also believe if you can send him the code numbers[on back?] he will cut for small fee. Believe he is running pair of key blanks on Ebay now.[$6.95 plus shipping?]
As with most ducati's getting one key to open all locks is not something they did... the ignition key is about 3x larger than the hole for the tank cap keyhole.
However i am not sure that the 750 paso ever had a locking tank cap originally, but it is the same size as the 906 and 907ie so it could very probably be one of these.
As for serial numbers none of those on the cap matched anything, and getting the lock out of the cap looked to be extremely hard. so I will use the standard cap that i have until something miraculous hapens to provide an answer.
thanks anyway guys

Well don't I feel like a dunce, now that you mention it, mine did too!qldman36 wrote:BTW my 907 came with non lockable tank cap.

Must have been thinking about my 996, which does hav a locking cap and is opened with the ignition key, as is the seat lock. (which can be opened with no key easier than it can with the key... if you know the trick)
