Hi guys. been a while. Ok, so I want to change the oil in my 907. The drain plug seems to be about 11mm. My 10mm is sloppy. I don't have an 11mm. I don't remember what I did last time (!). And I'm wondering if I can even get the spin on oil filter off with the exhaust in place. Maybe not. Maybe the filter I used last time was a bit long? Feeling stupid. I think the filter is the same for my 900 SS. I have an extra for that. I remember that the frame bit has to be unbolted to get the screen out. Do I have to take the exhaust off? Can anyone direct me to oil change instructions? My photocopied shop manual (906 + update for 907) doesnt seem to speak to the issue.
Thanks.
Sheldon

Re: brain fart
I've always found the hex in the oil drain plug to be sloppy fit with a 10mm key. There is an imperial size that's a better fit 7/16" ?
There is no need to take the exhaust off, I've never had to anyway. I've tried various oil filter removal tools to get it off but nearly always get the best results with a 4" Stilson! The filter is indeed the same as the 900SS or any other Ducati.
You will need to remove the frame section to get the oil screen out. The oil screen needs a 21mm socket to unscrew.

I have a couple of filter removal tools but sometimes resort to the tried and trusted method of hammering a large screwdriver through the filter and then unscrewing it - simples
